For any one who has pets, which hoover/vacuum do you use? Does it get the pet hair up well?

Dyson Animal! Very possibly the best vacuum ever IMO.

The Dyson vac for pet hair is AWESOME, but it was a bit out of my price range...

I just got the Bissel Pet Hair eraser for like $170 and it works really well too - its got a bunch of cool attachements specific for sucking up all the critter hair you've got on any surface!

Lana your friendship prayer made me LOL!! That is so funny! I have looked at the Dyson Animal but it is really expensive. I will have a look in Makro and see if they have it a little cheaper as I have heard nothing but good things about it.

KMonte I just looked that one up and it looks good. I know you have a dog so it must be decent. If I cant get the Dyson a fair bit cheaper I will likely buy the Bissell.

    Thankyou Both x

I have a bissel as well and I'm happy with it for the price range. It was $160 *i think* It gets up all the pet hair but I'm noticing as it's 3 yrs old I *and when I say I, really I should say my husband* have to take it apart and clean it sometimes. Other then that very happy with it

I honestly think the Dyson is a better quality vaccuum - but you'll pay for that quality for sure - so if you can afford it, go for it!

I've got a big (constantly shedding) black lab and 3 fat (constantly shedding) kitties, so having a inexpensive vaccuum that can keep up with only minimal cleaning every month or so considering we vaccuum a few times a week, was a good deal for me! It's got a grooming tool too, that can be used on your pets if they aren't scared of vaccuums - my dog and cats HATE it so we rarely use it, but it does work! You brush them with the grooming brush and all the hair gets sucked into the vaccuum - and its bagless, which is pretty nifty. Kinda a pro-active tool haha

Have you both got the upright one?? The reviews for the Bissell are really good. My cat would like it I think, she only runs away from our hoover as it makes a high pitched noise and its LOUD. She loves being brushed with odd objects, dust pan and brush, socks, comb, she comes flying into the room when she hears th dustpan and gets in the way to push herself along the bristles . Shes a shorthair so the hair isnt too bad but ive got 2 small birds aswell and sometimes its difficult to get the tiny seed shells from under their cage as its laminate flooring in the living room.

I have the bissel cyclone, it is an upright. To be fair to bissel my sucks up alot of chinchilla dust which is thick and caustic and it actually has broken two of my husbands computers. So it is defiantly a good vacuum for the price.

    Have to ask

Being in Aussie Land, brands are different, so my question to you is, do your vacums come as "bagless"? That being there is an attachment to the side, a clear plastic removable cone...which captures all the hair, you then twist it, empty it and put it back on once finished?
