Been thinking about this and it's time to get it in gear. I'm going to the annual Witches' Ball saturday night. That gives me less than 24 hours - I'm wicked seamstress, I can make darned near anything in that much time. But what?
This is a family event, pagans can be pretty open but it still needs to be suitable.

What are you planning for a costume?
I just love this time of year!

Maybe I'll go as a WildChild, but what will that look like?

First thing I think of is the kids from that novel Lord of the Flies. Leaves taped to your head, dirt on the face, ripped animal skin skirt? Sharpened stick in hand? lol...literally a "wild child".

Oooo I didn't enjoy that book at all. Nope not me. I thinking more a healing, spritely sort of being.

I did not like it at all either, one of those books forced upon us to read in school so it stuck with me and they had wild kids so that is why it popped up. But healing and spiritley? ehhh...google a healer to see what they are wearing and just somewhat mimic that with your own twist I guess.

If I had a party to actually go to I would be a pirate 'wench' (messed up hair, dangly doodad chains, big rings, boots etc) cause my bf has always wanted to dress up a pirate-I would only go to a party with him anyway. But we don't have any friends having any parties this year so no dress up will be happening.

We are going costume shopping this weekend. I still don't have the kids costumes. However, I think I am also going to dress up this year, the first time in a long long time that I'm going to. The only problem.... I have no idea what I'm going to dress up as.

My problem too. I want to be comfortable, have to be able to drive in it and will probably have to park a few blocks away. Don't want to have to carry a jacket but there will probably be a 1000 people there and I don't want to get too hot in a crowd either. Got to put on the thinking cap...

Looks like I'm going to be a black cat. I was all over the neighborhood stores but I found some suitable ears and a tail, in the little kids section, a simple black eye mask, I'm allergic to all the grease paints and make ups. Got a pair of Danskin long leggings that will work better than tights because I can easily sew a little pocket into the waistband to have a place for my licence, some money and a car key. I thought I had a balck one piece swim suit but that was years ago, I must have tossed it, it was just a fantasy. So I'll pair it with a black work out top. Then I got some kind of pricey but really lovely feeling black 'mink' fabric. I love just petting the stuff. I'm going to make some sort of jacket or sleeves and maybe a kind of body suit that I can attach my tail to out of that. I'll either wear black granny boots or just black socks on my feet. It's indoors at on of the Masonic Lodges, so the floors should be nice.
I've got about 2-1/2 hours I better get the sewing machines threaded up.
I think I'll shop the post holiday sales and get a couple costumes made ahead of time.
