Friday I'm going out for my best friends 20th Birthday and we've got to dress up as geeks...
I've ordered some braces off of ebay but thats as far as my outfit goes haha I don't have glasses, I dont have shirts.

What other sterotypes of geeks are there apart from the book nerd?
Like, explorer geek, gamer geek etc

    And any outfit suggestions?

Big black frame glasses. A plaid shirt would work. Maybe a tie. Pants have to be up to your belly button. Google Erkel lol and make it the female version. That can be your general 'geek'.

Science geek. Write chemical equations or structures on your shirt or something, and if someone asks what that is you should try to explain it (after you wikipedia a quick answer) then say...duuuuuhhhh. Name tag could have some weird stuff... "Hi my name is C6H12O6"

Gamer geek. Find a game and buy a T-shirt related to it. If its world of warcraft buy a shirt with one of those elf demon creature things on it.

Star Wars geek. Dress up as a character.

Star Trek geek. Dress up as a character.

My first suggestion would be to hit up a 2nd hand shop - these places often have tons of outdated, weird sized clothes for cheap.

-Pants with the hem 1 or 2 inches too high, hiked up to your belly button, with suspenders

-Cheesy plaid shirt or ugly sweater

-Glasses with masking tape on the nose bridge, and glasses string if you can find it

I also like Secret's suggestion of going as a StarWars/StarTrek geek! That's a fun idea

How about a tourist geek? You know the type.... Binoculars and camera hanging around your neck, large map folded up and sticking out of the pocket of a pair of pants (that don't fit or look good). A loud print or obnoxious colored shirt. A dumb, floppy straw or other unattractive hat. Cheap over sized sunglasses with lots of scratches....

Wear old, wrinkled but comfortable clothes. Carry the latest high-tech gadget, and Iphone4 will do, but something more exotic would be better. Arrive in a Tesla roadster (or Lamborghini, or maybe a mint condition Plymouth Super-bird depending on your sense of style). Show pictures of your last trip climbing in the Himalayas, or scuba-diving off of Fiji. Tell everyone about your plan to use technology to save the coral reefs, or polar bears, or some-such from global warming. Talk about "net neutrality", "panopticon surveillance", "transparent societies", global rights for women and gays and how they relate to religious freedoms, and other nerd topics. Leave in a hurry when you get a call from your local congressman, apologize and say you need to make an emergency trip to Washington in your G-V. <g>.
