More than 300 people were killed in Phnom Penh yesterday, mostly due to being crushed by the crowd on a bridge. Since I was just in Cambodia for 30 days, coming back 2 weeks ago, this really hits home. The people I know over there are OK, but for many others this changes everything. My heart goes out to them. What are others thoughts on this tragedy?

that over the past few years there have been more and more weather disasters... Sometimes I wonder if its a sign.
Regardless my heart goes out to those family and friends affected by it.

Crowd stampedes are really tragic. Good crowd control procedures can make them less likely, but a poor country like Cambodia probably doesn't have the resources to plan and set things up safely.

Cambodian people have been through so much in their history. It is hard to fathom 450+ people dying in a stampede incident. So sad.
