Hey, my name's Nikki! I'm only 18, I don't know if there's a lot of young people on this site, but I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone! It was a miracle I found this site, I've been looking for a community just for women based around living a healthy lifestyle and it was just by luck I found one today! =D

I was a real healthy eater not too long ago, my boyfriend's mom got me into the raw food living, everything I ate was healthy, even unbleached flour, agave instead of sugar, fake cheese made out of rice, coconut milk, and tofurkey (lol), and then I start working at Wendy's. And out of hunger (and no other way of finding food) I ate a double stack during my lunch breaks, and now I'm hooked! Seriously, I cannot stop eating fast food, so i went from an extreme healthy streak to the worst you can get. I eat once a day (skip breakfast cause I don't have time) and it's Wendy's fast food, and then I skip dinner. What has happened to me? And I swear it's getting to my thighs. Thank god I found this site, I need all the support I can get! Ha ha! I'm looking forward to spending time here with y'all. =)

    -Love Nikki

    Hi Nikki

Welcome to the Forum, I am going to take your last paragraph and create a new thread for you as this is "introduction" and so people can't reply to your problem, but they will .. Let's head it Wendys - Fast Food & Carrots - tofurkey

    Only joking..

PS: There are men on this Forum as well, thankfully we're lucky as they are good value and contribute well where only a man can answer some questions we have in our minds...

Okay mam, let me ask you a question or two

Did you agree with your boyfriend's mum or did you feel deprived?

    Do you enjoy your job

As to one of the main problems here is skipping breakfast is not good, that is why you are hungry and go for what ever is around, I am a shocker, though I am size 10 - 12 Australian only have a little winter fat, but anyways, I work in Real Estate and sometimes I don't time my opens well, so between them I am starving and so, the potato chips, or Kentucky comes to play....

You "could" take celery, carrots, tomatos, etc in a container to work and eat them but you don't

So are you rebelling do you think?

    Answer to your questions:

At first I did feel deprived, I went from a meat eater (and sausage lover) into a raw food, juicer and vegetarian in a day, and there was a point where I started craving the taste of meat again. But after a while I felt great, I realized the difference in the way i feel when I eat healthy and when I don't, every time I eat fast food now I notice how sleepy and exhausted I feel compared to when I eat organic salad. Yes, everything I ate was organic too.

No I do not enjoy my job at all, ha ha. I'm currently looking for other ones. I love serving and talking to the customers, but as for my boss, not really...

That's the thing, I feel like I can't eat healthy anymore, it's just not as appetizing, even though I know the fast food's probably slowly killing me. How do I explain it, when I put something healthy in my mouth I feel like I can't eat it, I'm constantly craving that sugary and salty stuff, it's literally like I'm addicted! What's even worse is that fast food has been pretty much all I've been eating.....for a month. =(

The miracle, my body hasn't really changed at all from it besides by thighs getting a little thicker. I would've expected myself to have blown up already but I guess I have really high metabolism since I pretty much am the same, I even weighed myself and I'm only 95 pounds. I'm only actually 5 foot in height so don't freak out by my low weight, it's normal for my height, ha ha.

Things take time I think, you loved how you felt, but yep, rebelious because most of your life you ate what ever you wanted, care, I'm young, not withstanding the "great feeling" it's like yes it feels good but I need salt, I need fat, yuck i feel like shirt but I am so used to all of that, rebelious...

Then you hate your job, knew it So there's a bit of depression there, not happy so eat.. Comfort...

I guess what you need to do is change jobs and then go back to where you were, you know your not going to get fat fat yet, so it's all good yet, however, you don't like this "old" feeling of feeling slugish hense your thread.

We have to be happy to do happy things for us...

Hi Nikki - welcome to the forum!

You're probably not putting on weight because you're only eating once a day, and even though a Double Stack is bad for you and high in calories (something like 350 cal), that isn't much given women should consume at least around 1200 calories a day. So you're not getting fat by eating that double stack, but you are getting unhealthy, and depriving your body of the nutrients it needs to function (hense the lethargic feeling you're getting)

If you want to stop eating that stuff before you are able to get a new job, you will need to set limits for yourself and just STOP. Easier said then done, I realize, but there is no other way. No one is going to swat your hand as you reach for that burger, you are the only one who can control what you consume. Just like you did when you started eating organic healthy foods with your bf's mom. You mentioned at that time too that you were having trouble with meat cravings, but they eventually subsided and you felt better. It will be the same thing again... you're going to want to eat that burger, because its yummy and you're at working around them all day, but with some will power you can resist, and eventually, you won't crave them any longer. It will help you to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning before work... even if you wake up 15 minutes earlier so you have time to grab some organic cereal or something to fuel your body in the morning.

Talk to your bf and his mom about getting back on track - get them to be your cheering squad, and use them as your motivation to resist the burgers and eat healthier. It will help you to be accountable if they are supporting you and you keep yourself on track with your eating habits.

But again, just as it was the first time you switched to a healthier lifestyle, you MUST have the internal motivation to do it.. otherwise its all just words, and no action to change. You've done it once already, so you know you've got it in you - you just have to push yourself!
