After I came home from school, I parked in the garage. When I opened the door to go in the house, there was a little girl standing there and she said hello. At first I thought I was seeing things, she looked like my younger sister when she was that age.

Then my sister-in-law came in the picture and I realized it was her little girl. They had tried to call me but my cell phone was dead and I didn't charge it in the car. My sister-in-law had to go to a funeral for one of her friends and I was elected to baby sit. So I've been making like a mother for the last hour, she won't be back until later this evening. SIL left me a bag with changes of clothes, she is potty trained but has accidents.

That would be weird, as it's un-expected and you didn't immediately recognise her...

And, looks like your getting in some practise
Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
    you must believe!

Considering you're diabetic, I almost had one while reading the subject line.

It did cause my heart to skip a beat. It is always hard for me to come up with a good title for my posts.

Your right about diabetes and heart attacks. Us diabetics are are 2-4 times as likely to have heart disease or suffer a stroke than people without diabetes.

When I read your title, I was so worried that something had happened. Thank goodness it was a good scare and not a bad one.

    Chi,
I am so very proud of you understanding and trying to also Educate others about your Diabetes.

So Many people don't understand and don't recognize it even in themselves, much less their Children.
Though I have never been Classified as a " DIabetic " I have been Classifdied as " AGT and SRHG".

Most of my Fathers family were Ins Deps, with Weight t & Heart & BP probs, They have all passed on ( usually around 60 years of age ).

26 years ago, The " Dr's" thought I was a True Un~ Diagnosed " Diabetic" and tried to treat me as Such. It almost Backfired and Almost cost me my life.

I finally found a Dr that understood that I was NOT Diabetic, But AGT,SRGT.. Which meant In order to LIVE, I had to change My Diet / Intake of " Foods or Treats.

I didn't want to give myself shots of Insulin every day or Every meal or Every time my Pancreaus decided it .. was Loaded or Unloaded to the " Proper Level " that the " Dr's " say.

I have for Years and Years, Avoided Super Carbs.. Potato's, Pasta, Rice. ( Instant Carbs)

And Try to Super Protien, Veggies, Meat / Poulty ..But it doesn't always work.. I do Crave the Cookie or Ice Cream or "Name Brand Fast Food " It just takes a NO I don't Wasnt to have to Give myself a " Shot " in the middle of a Dinner or anytime else.

I do " test " my Glucose level when I feel my Symptoms are Outta Whack..

But Diet and Physical Activity can make a "Sweet Young married Woman" like YOU " Learn that your life can be controlled, easily. By Knowing your BODY, Knowing your HEART and Beliving in YOURSELF..

    I'm Not Diabetic, I am a Controlled 55 year old AGT.. ( G**gle it along with SRGT ) .

I'm also glad to hear you're ok Chisaki. I know this is off the original topic but, my mother recently was diagnosed with diabetes (my aunt and great-uncle have it as well), and I worry about her all the time, as she is in denial about it and doesn't take care of herself. She was in the hospital recently due to high blood sugar in the 400 range, I have no idea how to get her to take this seriously... do you have any ideas/suggestions?

Misinformation about diabetes is troubling to a lot of diabetics. Some of them just get mad but I think it is better to tell them the truth.

I don't know anything about AGT or SRGT. I tried go google them but still not sure what they are.

I was 3 when I became diabetic so I never went through the "acceptance" stage. There are a lot of diabetes forums, Google for them and ask them for ideas and suggestions about your mother.

Glad to hear that you are OK, chisaki. I read this post well after you wrote it, so I don't have anything to add. I hope you had fun babysitting.
