    To the students and faculty of our high school:

    "I am your new principal, and honored to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people.

    I would like to apprise you of some important changes coming to our school.
    I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that
    have dominated public education in America have worked against you, against
    your teachers, and against our country.

    First, this school will no longer honor race or ethnicity. I could not
    care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow, or white. I
    could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian, or
    European, or if your ancestors arrived here on the Mayflower or on slave
    ships.

    The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is
    your individual identity - your character, your scholarship, your humanity.
    And the only national identity this school will care about is You wanting to be part of our Country.

    This is an American OR ( fill in your Country ) public school and as Our
    ( fill in ) public schools were created to make better Americans.

    * This is now on the America's Criteria in this Post *

    If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial, or religious identity through
    school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity-, race-,
    and non-American-nationality-based celebrations. They undermine the motto
    of America, one of its three central values - e pluribus unum, "from many,
    one." And this school will be guided by America's values.

    That includes all after-school clubs. I will not authorize clubs that
    divide students based on any identities. This includes race, language,
    religion, sexual orientation, or whatever else may become in vogue in a
    society divided by political correctness.

    Your clubs will be based on interests and passions, not blood, ethnic,
    racial, or other physically defined ties. Those clubs just cultivate
    narcissism - an unhealthy preoccupation with the self - while the purpose of
    education is to get you to think beyond yourself. So we will have clubs
    that transport you to the wonders and glories of art, music, astronomy,
    languages you do not already speak, carpentry, and more. If the only
    extracurricular activities you can imagine being interested in are those
    based on ethnic or racial or sexual identity, that means that little outside
    of yourself really interests you.

    Second, I am uninterested in whether English is your native language. My
    only interest in terms of language is that you leave this school speaking
    and writing English as fluently as possible. The English language has
    united America's citizens for more than 200 years, and it will unite us at
    this school.

    It is one of the indispensable reasons this country of immigrants has always come to be one country. And if you leave this school without excellent English-language skills, I will have been remiss in my
    duty to ensure that you are prepared to compete successfully in the American
    job market.

    We will learn other languages here - it is deplorable that most
    Americans only speak English - but if you want classes taught in your native
    language rather than in English, this is not your school.

    Third, because I regard learning as a sacred endeavor, everything in this
    school will reflect learning's elevated status.

    This means, among other things, that you and your teachers will dress accordingly. Many people in our society dress more formally for a meal at a nice restaurant than they do for church or school.

    These people have their priorities backwards. Therefore, there will be a formal dress code at this school.

    Fourth, no obscene language will be tolerated anywhere on this school's property - whether in class, in the hallways, or at athletic events. If you can't speak without using the F-word, you can't speak. By obscene language I mean the words banned by the Federal Communications Commission plus epithets such as the N-word, even when used by one black student to address another, or "," even when addressed by a girl to a girlfriend. It is-my intent that by the time you leave this school, you will be among the few of your age to distinguish instinctively between the elevated and the degraded, the holy and the obscene.

    Fifth, we will end all self-esteem programs. In this school self-esteem will be attained in only one way (the way people attained it until the State of ( chose one of 50 ) decided otherwise a generation ago - by earning it!

    With immediate consequence is that there will be one valedictorian, not eight.

    Sixth, and last, I am reorienting the school toward academics and away from
    politics and propaganda. No more time will be devoted to scaring you about smoking and caffeine, or terrifying you about sexual harassment or global warming.

    No more semesters will be devoted to condom-wearing and teaching
    you to regard sexual relations as only or primarily a health issue.

    There will be no more attempts to convince you that you are a victim because you are not white, or not male, or not heterosexual, or not Christian.

    We will have failed if any one of you graduates from this school and does not consider him or herself inordinately lucky - to be alive and to be an American.

    Now, please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of
    Your Country.
    As many of you do not know the words, your teachers will hand
    them out to you." And so will the Media.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Now Teach Your Children. Or Go " Home /Move" to the Parent or Person. That Made you FEEL the Right or Wrong of this Msg.. It is after all "Life"
    I apologize but I don't get it...is the person who made this message pro something, or anti something? I did not get any sense of either really.
    Was that a real letter from a principal or just some hoaxy pass around thing? The grammer/puncutation and I think even some spelling seemed to make it seem less than authentic... also the content was rambling and in no particular order -- it seemed more like something someone not directly involved in education would want to say if they were in charge, their personal outlook and not something endorsed by a school or school official?
    I didn't get it either it wasn't very clear at all.
    Either way - I like it!
    Doubtful it would actually happen - too much PC in todays society, and you know someone will take it to litigation. Sad, but true.
    We've become so bas-ackwards in things - that this (original post) makes too much sense to be real.
    They don't have ENOUGH semesters dedicated to condom use or sex education PERIOD. Just sit and read the pregnancy forum for a couple of days, thats all it will take to realize there is a SEVERE lack of sexual education going on. Not a week goes by without some young woman asking if some guy fingering her could get her pregnant or something else similiar. Some going so far as to take plan b to prevent pregnancy where it wasn't possible in the first place.
    With all the condom talk in the media, there is still SO much misinformation out there when it comes to real life situations and I think the schools have failed in that department. Sure in a perfect society people would get educated about their bodies and pregnancy and disease in the home -- but for a large number of families... that just does not happen. Public schools teach science and math and graduate kids that have no idea what causes pregnancy and how to prevent an unwanted one or an std... and thats pretty sad.
    i never met anyone stupid enough to think she could get pregnant from being fingered, swallowing was a concern for some, myself included, even though i had sex ed in school, i don't really think it's their responsibility to educate children how to have sex, they have a hard enough time teaching them how to read.
    How to have sex has nothing to do with anything. If I were a parent I am not going to sign a release form saying that my kid is going to learn missionary style, how to create an orgasm with fingers, how to rub in a clockwise fashion, how to inhale and exhale as sex is happening...no they are not going to learn how sex happens. They can go into it learning what sex physically is, the anatomy of the human body, what infections can happen, how they are transmitted, the unbelievable prevalence rates of STDs and STIs, and how pregnancy occurs. Show them a condom, tell him what it does, they will pay attention for the show and tell portion of the class...and back to doodling after. Kids are going to remain kids and will not have any intent to become sexually educated no matter how much protesting parents do outside government buildings.
    Sounds like a typical conservative viewpoint. Self consistent, but somewhat impractical:
    What happens to students who enter advanced grades in the school not speaking English well? (Here I am referring to LEGAL immigrants).
    American values covers a really wide range. Ask in Berkley, and ask in the bible belt and you will get different answers.
    The formal dress code will need to leave room for those whose religions require the wearing of specific head-gear or other items. Will the school pay for formal clothes for students who can't afford them, or whose parents don't want to buy them?
    I've spent more time in schools of various sorts than most Americans, and I can't always distinguish between the "holy" and the "obscene". In my opinion a lot of things are both.
    I am soooo Loving these responses..
    The OP by me was just something that I said " hmmm , I may remember these Days or Teachings / Teachers".. So I thought I would pass it out too see and understand the " New Generation"..
    How You think, feel, learned , , will teach your Children, Let whom teaches Your Children ..
    So as I can Gather from the Principal's " Notice"
    Is THAT...
    We no longer Should or Would or Will, differentiate Our Kids or Your Kids, Our Future as a Country United..
    If You are Born in a Country, Love your Country, Welcome others from Other Country's to Move to yours, Visit or Deploy, Exchange, Move and want to LIVE in that Country.
    Then it is Your Responsibility To LEARN and FOLLOW that Country's " Laws or Curriculum ".
    This Principal, Simply said that they would NOT allow Discrimination of Any Student that Wanted to Attend This High Schooll.
    This Principal gave an " Option " on How to be Educated, by Whom and was PC on the base of HUMANS that wish to Not be discriminated on by race, religion,creed and even income.
    If the School isn't something you want to have your Kid go to for 4 years of their Lasting Impressions of Growing Up, Becoming Responsible, Well Educated, Young Adults, Ready For the World and Jobs and Creations to Help You and I and Their " Family" Survive, Grow, ETC..
    You have the Option of " Private Schools" that Teach Only the Curriculum you feel is Right for your Teen/ Child.
    Then Again ..
    I think back to the Schools I grew up in.. And still remember the " spanking. 2 swats in front of class,on the desk with a wood square Paddle ( cheese board type ) in 5th grade, cheating by looking at others paper and having same exact answer on tests ..
    Now comes the " Teachings that are Circulated"..
    If you want your Child to Be.
    Educated in the System
    Start Young, In grade, Teach,
    Pass on, YOUR Wisdom,
