lol we gotta end this madness. Make it a rule that no topic that is not without substantiated reason (more than wanting an extra post count number and not for "just curious") for asking should not be asked.

Sure do, though I have to be careful about their sugar content due to diabetes.

Sultanas actually...they're smaller for some reason I just like them better.

JNS as these type of threads seem to turn due to a comment which is interesting actually, my Dog, Kia, "Husky", has just been diagnosed with that, and yes, 7am daily food, 8am injection, 7pm food, 8pm injection, although prob changing that to 6.30am etc, in any event, it's chicken & veg for her, what foods can you eat? If you don't mind me asking?

Speaking of dogs and raisins.. I've heard they are really bad for dogs, grapes/raisins.. not sure how true that is but I keep my dog away from them just in case!! I use to hate raisins as a kid, made me think of cocaroaches... I like them now, but sometimes I still think of them of cocaroaches and have to stop eating them

I like raw raisins but not cooked. Only in small quantities as they seem over sweet to me. Me the chocolate queen!

Diabetics can eat any type of foods, but they have to keep track of their portions. Beyond that, they keep track of their calories and especially their grams of carbohydrates to minimize the effects of the diabetes. Even finer control comes from knowing the glycemic index, or how fast carbs will be absorbed, of each particular food. Some veggies, such as corn or beans, contain a lot of carbs, others, such as celery or lettuce, do not.

Type 1 diabetics, like Chaya, need to inject enough insulin to cover their carbs and test to make sure that they are not too high or too low. Too high damages internal organs and nerves, especially in the extremities. Too low and you can go into diabetic shock or coma. Type 2 diabetics, such as myself, can sometimes get by with medicine that enhances the effect of the insulin produced, or for others, also inject. If insulin is injected, testing at least several times a day is recommended.
