I was watching an interview of CNN's Anderson Cooper on TV when he was asked this question. What is the one moment in your life that you would like to relive? It got me thinking, what was my one moment that I would like to relive.

At first I thought it might be a particularly good sex union, but then I thought, they were almost all good. Then I thought it might be the moment we decided to get married or when we exchanged our vows. After a lot of thought I decided it was this past New Years eve party in Hawaii with my husband.

Everyone at the party was drinking except me and my husband. We had danced a lot, then they had a count down to midnight. All the couples kissed and we danced for a while. Then we went out on the lanai where we were alone. We could still hear the music mixed with the sound of the surf on the beach near the lanai. We sat there in what was for me a perfect world and hugged and kissed. That was the moment I would like to relive. There might be better moments in the future but I doubt it.

Zen is more of an attitude than a belief.

Good question. I would have to say, the day my little brother was born... my Dad walked right into my 3rd grade classroom with a huge gift basket full of candy and goodies, and he said "Congratulations, Big Sister Kristalyn! Your baby brother was born this morning, and we're going to see Mom and baby Kyle at the hospital as soon as you get out of school." I was overwhelmed with joy... everyone was staring at me wondering what the heck was going on, but I didn't care.

I would love to relive that, have that feeling again, hold my brother again for the first time, see my mother at a time when she was happy, see my father again. It's funny how sometimes you don't realize just how special some moments are until many years later.

Not trivial at all Sid. That was the day your life changed, and will continue to change for the better. Good for you!

Getting married in Thailand, solo, with no friends or relatives from elsewhere. Knowing only a little of the language and less of the customs. The procession to the house where we were getting married with me as the guest of honor and a foot taller than everyone around me. People dancing, singing and beating drums. Having an umbrella over me to shade me from the sun. Having my sister-in-law to-be ritually wash my feet before entering the house. Seeing my wife in her wedding dress. Having 4 monks bless the wedding. Doing the proper religious bows all the way to the floor. Eating and meeting guests. Having the master of ceremonies describe the duties and symbolically bind my wife, myself, and family together with draped string. Holding an egg and a sticky rice ball in my hand in part of the ceremony. Having money tied to my wrists and to those of my wife. Eating and meeting some more. Taking pictures. Everything winding down. Time together.

chaya, if you have a baby you will have an image that will strongly compete with that one.

kristalyn, what an amazing thing for your dad to do.

sidney, good for you, stay strong.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
