QLD Floods

Hello all

Not sure if the news is international but i thought i might leave an update. My room mate and i were told early this morning to evacuate our place and get to higher ground. We are about 10 minutes away from the brisbane river.

I am now safe at my parents house however we are also on flood alert here too. A few moments ago we were informed that the brisbane river has now broken its banks and we are in for a rough 48 hours with king tides due to come in from the east and flood waters to come in from the north and west.

So far a few people have lost thier lives and many are still missing, please send your thoughts and prayers to the land down under.

All my family is in QLD, all safe for now thankfully.

My friends house is under threat though.

Good god, i know whats going on down there, i have a very dear friend that lives in Australia and i've been watching it on the news too, it's devastating, one place they have been showing in particular is called " Rockhampton" ..

My thoughts and prayers are with you guys !!..

yeah rockhampton got hit hard last week.... water is 19 meters high... all you can see is peoples roof tops

You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. I am hoping for the best for all affected. Is this part of a La Niña cycle? Do they have any predictions when the weather will break?
