    DR. OZ on eating fruit!

Wow. This is truly enlightening.. I thought it was going to be funny. But there are some very interesting healthy facts included here.

    Read on.

    EATING FRUIT

    This is informative!

We all think eating fruit means just buying fruit, cutting it up and popping it into our mouths. It's not that easy. It's important to know how and when to eat fruit.

What's the correct way to eat fruit?

    IT MEANS
NOT EATING FRUIT AFTER A MEAL! FRUIT SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

Eating fruit like that plays a major role in detoxifying your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.

Let's say you eat two slices of bread, then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it's prevented from doing so.

In the meantime, the whole meal rots and ferments, and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach, and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

    Eat your fruit on an
empty stomach, or before your meal! You've heard people complain: Every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc. This will not happen if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. Fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas. Hence, you bloat!

There's no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruit becomes alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruit, you have the Secret of Beauty, Longevity, Health, Energy, Happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice drink only
fresh fruit juice, NOT the concentrated juice from the cans. Don't drink juice that has been heated. Don't eat cooked fruit; you don't get the nutrients at all. You get only the taste. Cooking destroys all of the vitamins.

Eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit-fast to cleanse your body. Eat fruit and drink fruit juice for just 3 days, and you will be surprised when your friends say how radiant you look!

    KIWI:
Tiny but mighty, and a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E and fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange!

    AN APPLE
a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants and flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C, thereby helping to lower the risk of colon cancer, heart attack and stroke.

    STRAWBERRY:
Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits and protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

    EATING 2 - 4 ORANGES
a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent and dissolve kidney stones, and reduce the risk of colon cancer.

    WATERMELON:
Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. Also a key source of lycopene, the cancer-fighting oxidant. Also found in watermelon: Vitamin C and Potassium.

    GUAVA & PAPAYA:
Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene, good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer!

Can you believe this? For those who like to drink cold water, this applies to you. It's nice to have a cold drink after a meal, however, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you've just consumed, which slows digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks.

    HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE

Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw.. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they're asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Be careful, and be aware. The more we know, the better our chance to survive.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer!
Words like that are red flags for false information lol

Same as "A cardiologist said if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life."
-The chain mail is very often just false info to make us smile or make us cry or someone is bored and they just want to send a bunch of stuff to people.

But eating fruit is healthy! lol We all know that. Would Dr. Oz say only eat fruit at certain times? Not likely. Unless he said it on his show or in his books. Online in a spam chain mail? Not so much lol.

I love Dr. Oz. Most any info you find claiming to be from him, can be verified on his website. He did not write this. As for fruit, I have heard the eating fruit on an empty stomach thing. But according to Snopes (dot com) it's false. Unless you have a fructose intolerance, or are diabetic (the fruit when eaten alone can cause increase in glucose levels), then you shouldn't worry about WHEN you eat you're fruit, so long as you're eating it.

As for the cold water and cancer thing......it's also a hoax. I checked it on snopes and it's listed under the American Cancer Society's "Many Still Buy into Common Cancer Myths" written in 2005.

CW is not only the white witch, but a mythbuster as well!

Personally I would eat fruit more than I would eat meat if I could and I love meat, but prices and out of season fruit stops me. Sure I may burp a bit after I eat a peach or two because my body is digesting, and loving to digest, those sugars but I don't care lol. Give me a watermelon and I could eat the whole thing out on the deck while sun tanning lol. Man I love the summer, this winter thing with lack of good quality fruit just depresses me. Tell me I will get cancer if I eat bread before the fruit or if I drink cold water and I will pull out my arsenal of actual education books and rant on....while eating strawberries after my lunch

I guess i didn't look into this.. I took it as it was! Shame on me, i was lazy.
But now that i think of it..
Why would that be limited to just fruits. What about veggies on top of bread, and fermentation? It would seem, that theory false.

Why would that be limited to just fruits. What about veggies on top of bread, and fermentation?
It would be limited because they would have to go into talking about vegetables and their different components which apparently is too much work for them to do. Fermentation is the result of digestion of sugars, like glucose fructose and sucrose, which are very abundant in fruits. Your body, technically the bacteria, absolutely loves those particular sugars because there is a relatively high amount of energy that can payout from it. Having fermentation occurring in the gut is what needs to happen, people like the idea of using words that can scare people into adopting their ideas so they make it seem like "fruit spoils when it ferments in your body!!!", sounds like a terrible thing to be happening but digestion is not spoiling of food it is the necessary thing that needs to be happening in order to get the nutrients the body needs. One of the results of fermentation process is the production of methane which is the gas we dislike when it is expelled from our body. Vegetables do have natural sugars just not as much. Some veggies produce a heck of a lot of gas though through their carbohydrates (sugars), cauliflower and broccoli are good examples. The person who wrote this could have said cauliflower and broccoli should be eaten before anything else or on an empty stomach if they wanted to continue with their Dr. Oz schpeal....but alas they did not.

I brought up the entire article on Snoops. It does not come from Dr Oz. It is from a much longer piece, from 1998, written by culinary writer from Singapore. Part of this relates to a diet concept from the 1980s called Diamonds. There is nothing to substantiate any of it. Eating fruit is good for you, people with certain health conditions such as diabetes should eat fruits with other foods.

    Basically:

Fruit is good for you no matter when you eat it
We can only learn to love by loving. - Iris Mudoch, British writer

I was so LMAO ing over the fruit with bread or grains as they would ferment. And must admit I played a joke on my daughter (20) She's kinda a bit gullible.

Showed her the Email. She almost cried..

No more Peanut Butter and Jelly or Jam Sandwich's, No Apple Pie, or Peach or Blackberry Cobbler, No Strawberry Pop Tarts, No Fruit filled Scones or Turnovers, No fruit filled Granola Cakes or bars. No more Cereal flaked or Oatmeal with Banana's or Blueberries or Strawberries in it. No more Strawberry or Apple waffles or pancakes.. Banana nut bread is a No No too.

No more Cold deserts after Dinner, Ice cream, fruit juice bars, sorbet's.. Being as it's cold and can turn Grease into lard in the Stomach and Clog your Arteries. And now Soda's like Lemon Lime (7 Up) or Black Cherry or any fruity Soda with or after Dinner ..

No wine or fruit flavored liquors when she gets old enough to have a glass, That is Fermented fruit, I mentioned how ppl get drunk and do stupid things and told her it got your insides drunk if you had fermented fruit. and your Kidneys and Liver did real stupid things to your body .

The worst thing was Explaining that she could not have Pasta with Marinara or Spaghetti Sauce or Pizza with any Pizza Sauce.. She is Italian and Loves Spaghetti and Rigatoni & Pizza. It took her a bit to understand that a Tomato to make the Sauce, Is Not A Vegetable, It's actually a Fruit. That's when she almost Cried ..

    Lmao , I know it was Mean ... But I couldn't resist .
