Default Imbolc- Wishing You All A Joyous Day

Today is the dark of the moon and Imbolc. On the christian calendar it has been assigned to Feb 1 but the dark of the moon is the actual day. It marks mid winter and celebrates the Goddess Brigit or Bride. She is the "Exalted One", the Queen and Mother Goddess of most European tribes. Her name originated with the Vedic Sanskrit word brihati, an epithet of the divine.

She is the source of oracles, divination and prophecy, the Goddess of poetry, regeneration and abundence, fire, art and childbirth. The Christians turned her into a saint.

This is a time to clean your home, bake and meditate (a fire meditation is appropriate) upon what you want for the coming year. What healing do you need? How can you rebalance your life? What do you want to create in your life?

Interesting. I went to my first bikram yoga (hot yoga) class yesterday.

Happy Imbolc to you WC. Best wishes for the future.
