tags ,why did you chose yours ??

ive read lots of tags and think that they are all inspirational ,some downright intense and am curiouse as to why you all chose what you did .
i chose my own because my past has proved that even tho love has nearly destroyed me ,more than once, i continue to seek it out , like most people i take the chance again and again, knowing full well the concequences if it goes wrong.
so why did you chose what you did ??

When you say tags, I think you mean the saying we have in the signature area. If so.

"Never regret something that once made you smile." I saw the saying somewhere and I knew I liked it the first time I read it. I picked it as a reminder to myself. Things didn't turn out the way I wanted to with my ex-boyfriend but I told myself I would never regret the time I spent with him. I have so many good memories from the times that I spent with him. He use to make me laugh and definitely smile. I needed to remind myself that even though it didn't work out, there were plenty of happy times. And I still have those to cherish. There is no reason why I should regret that they ever happened.

I also learned quite a lot from that relationship, even though it only lasted about six months. A lot of it was just hard lessons to learn.

Mine came from a deep respect and admiration for the writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson. A highschool assignment was to read his essay, Nature. I sucked in every drop of that writing, and have used it as a guide for how to live my own life.

Most people remember learning about Emerson from their history or philosophy classes during class discussions of Transcendentalism and Individualism.

This quote speaks to me. It tells me that *I* am the owner of my future. *I* can control my destiny. I can influence my success in life, even if I might not be able to control or predict every mishap that come my way. I can't stop negativity from happening to me, but I can control how I react to it and turn it into something positive for myself. And this quote helps me remember that, even in some of my darker moments when I'm ready to give up.

Mine reminds me to be kind and loving to all beings.
I heard it the first time in a recorded discussion of a Kriya-Yogi master in the 1930's and I kept it ever since, and I repeat it to myself very often.
