I would visit Minoan Crete. I would like to see what was an apparently advanced and sexually egalitarian society before it was overrun by barbarians.
when would you choose and why? (and it's ok to idealize)
C'mon girls - let's have some FUN!

We can only learn to love by loving. - Iris Mudoch, British writer
I'll go with you Wildchild !
I would also enjoy a visit to Minoan Crete, it has a great history of human " Evolution" but more from a respect and rights of women and people in general of all status. It sounds fairly equalized.
Though I might be wary of a White Tiger ( Thomas lol ) Staring at all the ladies bare breasts and Bangles that adorned us .
Then again that is just one of the many past centuries or places I would like to visit.
And some of them I would like to visit again. This is not my first body that my Spirit has lived in. and I'm sure that later I will want to Visit this Era again, possibly just to laugh at myself and also learn from my mistakes.
To visit someplace is a question of what degree and what exposure. To visit as a tourist, to visit as an outsider, to visit as an insider, to visit as a rich person, to visit as a poor person, to visit as well-to-do, to blend in, to know the language, etc.
I would probably like to visit China as Marco Polo's traveling companion. He was an outsider, but was afforded many glimpses into that society.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
Patrick Henry
I would probably go back to early 1900's - love the style of the people and the modern advances brought on in those years.. love the 20's -30's 40's 50's. Either that... or Roman times...
I would visit the 1800's. I would like to meet Florence Nightingale.

The Crucifixion and see what actually happened.
Brittany in 4000 BC and see what they did with all those rows of stones
Oooooo I'm in on that one.The Crucifixion and see what actually happened.
Honestly I want to go back to whatever time the pyramids were said to have been built. The date I do not know of, the culture I am not interested in I just want to see who actually built them. There are many theories that they were not even built by people (lol) but I want to go back in time and just see the bricks being laid down just so I can say "I know who did it!".
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
I think the pyramids are pretty well known (egypt, ~2500BC), and they have a pretty good idea how (ramps, stones on rollers, etc). It would be awesome to see them new though - they were originally covered with polished limestone and would have been stunning in the sun. They are really spectacular even now, almost 5000 years later. Huge - Cheops pyramid was the tallest building in the world for about 4000 years, and you could almost hide St. Peters cathedral under it.
