I just wanted to share an experience I had today because it was very upsetting.

I work at a customer service based rental store. I love it except when people get mad at me for no reason, or if guys hit on me in disgusting ways.

But today the store phone rang and a voice came on very low and said something about "it's all your fault." I automatically thought he was blaming me for his order not showing up or something ridiculous, so I kept asking him to speak up. "I'm sorry sir, I can't hear you. Can you repeat that for me?" And all I kept hearing was some muffles and then "it's all your fault." I must of asked him to repeat it 3-4 times. I finally asked him to go on hold so I could switch phones.

Even though I couldn't understand him, I could tell something was different. This wasn't a disgruntled customer. His voice was very low, calm, level and he was talking at the same pace every time. He was being very patient, which is not characteristic of an angry customer. But there was another quality in his voice, it frightened me. For some reason he sounded like he was a person capable of doing bad things. I felt in danger.

When I had him on hold for a few seconds I took a deep breath before picking up the line. This time I could hear him loud and clear. "I have a hard 10 inch (EDIT) and it's all your fault." I suddenly stopped breathing, waited a second and then slammed the phone back on the receiver.

At first I was freaked, but okay. My co-workers heard my end of things and witnessed me slamming the phone so they were concerned. But I couldn't even look at them. I walked as fast as I could to my manager, took her aside and told her what happened. When I was telling her, I started tearing up. I think that's because saying his words out loud reminded me of his voice and that was the only scary part.

She comforted me saying that it wasn't targeted at me, some people just do that by calling random numbers. Hearing that made me feel less threatened, but I still needed to take a moment to relax and get his voice out of my head.

But I just wanted to share this story and see if anyone else has experienced something like it. I was really paranoid walking to my car at night when I left work and then driving home too. I'm just glad I have a house alarm for tonight.

Oh, my... what a creepy experience. Most likely though it was just some idiot guy dialing a random number trying to solicit a reaction from some random woman. Did you tell your boss?

Sounds like a random call. If the same person does it again, then its worth calling the police

Years ago I worked retail and one day I answered the phone (years before cell phones) in my department, "Your local retailer, my department, how may I help you?" I could hear a loud stereo and some guy talking, but couldn't distinguish the words.
We went back and forth several times with me saying. "I'm sorry, I can't hear you. You need to turn down your stereo."
He would say something and I would repeat myself, asking that he turn the stereo down.
Finally I hear a clunk of the receiver being set on a table, the stereo got quiet and I heard the person pick the phone back up. He started in with a detailed sexual fantasy of what he was going to do to me. I was a bit stunned for a moment and said, "excuse me". He started to repeat it and I then hung up. I got quite a laugh out of it though. I must have made him repeat himself 5 or 6 times before he turned down the stereo. He was determined to have his say.

I used to work at a hotel and would talk to many people on the phone. One day I got a call from a man wanting to book a room for valentines day. I didn't think anything of it while we were chatting about different suites and hotel packages he could get. He started asking my advice on what a woman would like, still I didn't think anything was up. It wasn't until he started asking me if I thought she would like different sexual positions and dirty talk during sex. It was then when I realized this dude was up to no good and I simply told him that I was uncomfortable with that conversation and I was happy to help him with a reservation. He apologized but continued to talk about it, finally I hung up. I felt bad about hanging up on a potential customer or not grabbing my boss to take over but I was very uncomfortable and pretty much disgusted by this perv who had nothing better to do than prank call places. I did for a split second think it was my ex boyfriend, he's been known to prank call me, but I never knew who it was and he never called back! I was pretty pissed and freaked out about it but it made for a good story later!

These must be poor lonely guys without wives or girlfriends who are too cheap to call the hot sex phone services and too stupid to know that they can chat with women online for free. Terminally stupid men who have already been bounced from the gene pool. Unfortunately all too typical of the sort of men I run into online. :-(

If you'e in the contiguous 48 states of the U.S. you can hit *69 on your phone, unless it's a multi line business and it will play back the number for you. You can then right it down and track it online to find out a possible address from where the call originated.

It's hard to "press" legally with one call, but if they ever were to call again...

I'm sorry that also happened to you, but hearing that makes me laugh that he also had to repeat it a bunch of times. They really have nothing better to do, do they? lmao

After I calmed down my manager shared an experience with me. She was 16 working at a different retail store when some dumb guy called her and started talking about his "pole." Her work has a bunch of hardware, and she thought he was referring to the poles they have in store. She kept trying to get him to explain, and he got so frustrated with her he hung up! Her manager ended up explaining it to her, and she laughed her head off! She still does to this day. Women 1, pervs 0.

Beckers, they are everywhere, I remember when I was in my 20's someone decided to poop on my back lawn use the towel from my clothesline, throw that on my garage, open my laundry door, and then scratch at midnight on my bedroom screen...

    Imagine?

I yelled at him, your not getting me out of this home...Well he did eventually

But, point being it's mainly all talk and in your instance, seriously he doesn't know you, it's easy to call a call centre and it's the fear, hangup that get's them off, he doesn't know you, you were random

    Glad your feeling safer.
