*sigh* I'm back after a month long hiatus due to all sorts of crazy-llama-drama...

-There is crazy childish poop going on at hubby's work causing us lots of stress (one (Edit) is going out of his way to lie and slander my hubby's name... stupid (Edit...)
-It was found out that my sister may not be able to have kids so she went into a DEEP depression, lost weight, went on meds, and almost had to be admitted to a hospital for her weakened condition (She's a tiny little mouse of a girl: very skinny to begin with)
-Mother-in-law made an emergency trip to Mexico to take care of some business (leaving hubby and me to take care of his 16 year old brother and alcoholic step father).
-Gave blood on St Patty's day and became severely anemic and I lack the ability to produce hemoglobin anywhere NEAR fast enough to keep up with my daily energy requirements that I have NO energy for!
-Little cousin (17) stole mass quantities of alcohol from Gramaw's liquor cabinet and had kids from her private Baptist school over last Friday night (while her dad was out of town) for a drunken pot party and got busted by the cops meanwhile she continues to lie to the family and alienate ALL of us...
-I just had to clean my hubby's mother's kitchen and make dinner for her and everyone as she got in tonight at 6. Did I mention that she was gone for 3 weeks, meanwhile NO ONE picked up after themselves? Or that there is a crusty film over almost ALL surfaces in that house?

    I'm exhausted
I'm dirty, my hair is gross, and I'm too dang tired to shower
I'm still recovering from severe anemia and all I want to do is sleep T_T

Please, God, tell me there is a rainbow at the end of this month
... I'm too tired to shower, brush my teeth, put my pajama bottoms on, or cry...

Oh my lord. Sending some imaginary iron pills and big comfy pillows and a lock for the bedroom door your way!

What a rough time!!!! What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Hang in there, and remember to put your health first. Get some black strap molasses and incorporate a few tblsp into your daily diet. It's great for iron and won't make you constipated. Take care and keep your head up!

    Thank you guys so much!!
I really needed a little kind word or two to make me feel better. I knew molasses was good for a natural vitamin supplement but I didn't know it had iron! I'm so doing whole grain toast with molasses now! I'm trying to do everything short of iron pills and liver (yehck!).

I have two full size spleens that destroy red blood cells faster than I can make them, so naturally giving blood takes longer to recover from. To top it off I'm on my cycle so I'm REALLY in need of iron. My colleagues keep saying I look pretty pale (well... I'm pretty darn pasty anyway so when people say I look pale it makes me feel like I look like a cousin of the crypt keeper or something, hahahahaha). I don't usually wear make-up but I find that putting on a little concealer and bronzer helps to warm up my skin color and makes me feel almost human again.

So do any of you guys have weird internal anomalies?
    Born without something?
    Born with an extra something?
Born with a weird condition? (like "sugar dumping syndrome". That's pretty weird but also pretty cool I guess. It doesn't hurt or hinder you, but it's weird, so its cool in my book. )

Ahh but remember molasses and black strap molasses are two different things. You want unsulphured black strap molasses. And WildChild recommends chlorophyl drops (organic) for iron supplement along with other benefits. (Sorry WC I'm totally speaking for you here just in case you don't see this thread I don't want the OP to miss out on your info! )

And yes, I was born with what was a rare birth defect at the time, craniostonsosis (think I spelled it right). 6 weeks after birth my mother said she just knew something wasn't right as I seemed to be upset and in pain. She was right. I had no soft spot, therefore my head wouldn't expand as my brain did. I had my skull split open, and the fused suture lines cut out so my head could grow. It took me many years to grow into my forehead which had bubbled out some, but I was very fortunate to have thick hair and the only scar is covered totally by my hair. I have a large "dent" in the back of my head though, but you can only feel it when you actually rub my head.

    And I have severe hypoglycemia.

Black strap molasses drizzled over oatmeal. An acquired taste that can't be beat as a healthy one, two punch for breakfast in the morning.

Natural fiber with vitamins and minerals. Mmm Mmm!

Add a few raisins and some nuts...even better!

Mmmm: golden raisins and pecans on oatmealllllll

Wow, our friends baby girl just had surgery to crack her skull open because her coronal suture fused tight. Poor things, both of you. At least there will be no memory of the surgery.

Yea, I have mild hypoglycemia. I have to eat every 3-4 hours or I get dizzy and CRANKYYYYYY!

I went and got my blackstrap molasses today! I took one tablespoon twice (lunch and dinner) and hope to take at LEAST one tablespoon 3 times a day until next thursday when I get my iron checked again. I also got some malt to add to my milk at breakfast. Lets see if this helps out. Thanks for the advice and support in here ^_^ I'm excited! Yay! If this works then I wont feel like a zombie anymore!
