Potential Stalker

I am not sure if I am asking something or just needed to talk, my fiance is in the middle of service, I guess I can ask the Police but right now, I just need to talk.

Most know I am a Real Estate Agent, sometimes that means you are showing houses alone, or 1 person only turns up.

I was looking forward to sleeping in this morning my diabetic dog means I have to be up at 6.30am but she relapsed so no insulin, mean't as long as she slept, I could however, my mobile went off (public holiday) at 650am.. two times, I didn't answer but had to get up otherwise CD would be worken, he's working double shifts.

I turned it to silent, and it continued another three times.

At lunch time five more times.

At 3pm again, I had enough (PRIVATE NUMBER) usually means someone harrasing you to change phones etc...so I answered.

This man asked about a house which I told him I sold, he started his conversation with "you are hard to catch" I answered, well like everyone, I decided to take time out over Easter how can I help you... He enquired about a house as I said, I told him it was sold, he asked if I had anything else, I told him about another property he asked if he could see it..

He didn't introduce himself, nor ask what the other property sold for, asked questions about my weekend, stated I was on my way to my parents, hense not working and then stated " You're pretty hot yourself". I answered with "well I thought this was bogus but you know you talk and sell, I've arrived at my parents now so I'm going"..He said "aren't you going to show me though?" I said, "are you for real, you think I'm going to show you through privately? Check out the open times, and go through when people are around and I hung up...

He didn't like that...rang twice I didn't answer, remember Private number.

At like 20 minutes ago, up came private number...I answered knowing, it was him...

He said "You hung up on me, I don't understand why, what I did"... I said, " Do you think I am stupid? You didn't ask price, you came across with induendoes and you started ringing at 7am.... "Did I? " he stated, " Yes, you did 12 times after all you stated "You are a hard person to catch" - Listen, you can come to an open, my brother is a cop and they will be there from now on, I know your voice, you think you are smart not telling me your name, dialing on a Private Number, I worked for years in an Investigation Firm ( I did) and I have a brother who's a cop (I don't) I know your voice and whilst I will need proof trust me, I will get it, you don't scare me.

He said, "I'm not trying to scare you believe me, I attended one of your opens, you wore a short black skirt, stockings, and you sat down, you don't wear knickers do you..." to which I replied, " seriously? Do you not get girls? Is that the problem? "Oh yes I have many" " Oh really, well, see I don't wear stockings, I never sit down at an open and you are either thinking of someone else, or you are full of it, remember, I know your voice, and my brother's a cop and plain clothed will now be at my opens, I suggest you never turn up at my opens.

Phew... glass of wine in hand.

So, anyone experience this? I have before nothing come of it, but this guy is obsessive and I guess I am worried...

I suspect Police can't locate private calls, I will remember the voice I will stand out the front of opens, my fiance is going to hospital Thurs, for an operation I can't ask him to come with me Sunday at my open...

Any suggestions?

I know of a real estate agent lured and killed... I aint going to be her..

My work address is ficticious that being I sold the building, but retained the advertising for a year.

I will be watching my back when driving from open inspections my home number is silent.

I am a strong one and I hope I put a little fear in him, but still I am human and naturally worried...

Is Australia a place where the citizenry is not trusted with firearms, as only the police and the criminals have them? Many countries are like that. If you can, get a concealed weapon to be able to defend yourself. As a person who has to interact with the public for your livelihood, this is a difficult situation. Best of luck.

I so thought of that as well, maybe hairspray in my bag.

He was lying he hasn't seen me just a photo and is fantasizing only 12 calls in one day to speak to me, tells me as a previous investigator alot.

Also my witchiness, spells fear yet nothing frightens me, however, I know, deep down, the perverts of this world will be anonymous and anything can happen.

I definately will not go inside this opening on any weekend where a male turns up and I will listen for the voice and I will carry some spay of some form but often they are talk but then, I read true crime

Ahh it's a dangerous job really ..

The main thing is I think is to not be inside, no private openings and watch as I drive home...

Isn't it sad to live your passion and yet live in some form of fear .

You know, I had a guy poop in my back yard, grap my towel from the line, and scoop it up and throw it all on the garage, place his fingers down the flyscreen at night, I was 25.

I've lived this before, I will again..

Just sad that I have to.

This is why it's my belief every woman be educated in firearms and the use thereof. If you cannot carry a weapon due to your Countries laws, at least carry hot sauce in your purse. The hotter, the better. Give the thug a dose of it straight in his eyes if you can. Hairspray in the eyes will only make him angry and be more intent on harming you. Carry a steak knife if nothing else. Countries that prohibit guns are only allowing the thugs to take over.

Not my guns, no way, no how. They will not get them, period. Police count bodies, not prevent crime. Guns prevent the thug, why is that so hard for people to understand? Hire a bodyguard if nothing else- I'm only trying to help. Go take a self defense class and master it. No man or woman deserves to be stalked, not an option. Wish I was down there to help you out with that problem. I'd gladly lend a Lady a hand.

Sorry this jerk has gotten you stressed out. He definitely sounds like a total creep. Ignore private calls from now on, perhaps even let your clients know "If you must call me from a private number, you will have to leave a message". When you have an opening, be watchful and then especially when you leave to go home, watch for anyone who may follow you. I have no doubt you'll be mindful of your surroundings. He's got nothing on you witchy woman. Don't talk to him anymore. Most likely, he'll get bored and move on to someone else.

Oh, PS, you can also buy these little security devices that when a button is pushed a loud alarm goes off like a security system alarm. Perhaps getting one of those for your keychain would be a good idea. Sometimes a loud noise drawing attention to you is a deterance.

Another option is "wasp spray". You can buy the keychain ones, they spray much farther than reg pepper spray and with more force. They may make the perp go blind but hey, long as you're safe right?

mace would be a great idea if allowed, as would a taser if possible!

Being in the real estate industry can have some risks, it is a very independent job and flying solo, especially with nutjobs like this guy running around can be scary!

CW - so sorry to hear you have to deal with this. Some people are such creeps, unfortunately it is hard to tell who is just a creeper and who's legitimately dangerous - so they all need to be treated as threats! I do hope you inform the police of this harrassment. Not only for your own safety, but I have a feeling this guy might be calling other women too...
