There have been lots of threats on real vs "purchased", and my objective is not to start yet Another one. What I'm curious about are the numbers. All my life I was not a breast man. (I was a butt man). As my gf recently got them, all of that changed and I now have a hightened sense of awareness about them. It seems to me that nowdays (vs 20 years ago) young women are walking around pretty blessed. It seems more and more women are getting them done and at a younger and younger age. My gf and I know about 7 or 8 personally. Would most of you agree on this? Do you know very many ladies getting them done? Or is there just something in the food and milk these days haha? Just very curious!!!;-)

I have a bunch of female friends, none of them have had a boob job. I don't think I've known any woman that has had one, or maybe I just haven't been able to tell since I don't really pay much attention to breasts. I don't like the idea personally, but some women are so insecure about their size they are willing to go great lengths to change it. I don't have huge breasts, but not small either, and I'm perfectly happy with my size and wouldn't ever consider augmentation.

296,000 breast augmentations were performed in the U.S. in 2010. This was an increase in the U.S. of two percent from 2009.

Breast Aug. remains the number one procedure performed by plastic surgeons in the U.S.

I bet you do know of at least one person who has had it done. If not, then you've at least seen them in your local grocery store.

I only know of one woman, that was a work acquaintance really.. that has had breast augmentation. It may not necessarily be that a lot of women are getting them... but the types of people that you relate to the best based on interests and view points have a similar view and taste for it so you see and hear about it more.

I think it could also partly be... if by being "blessed" isn't just a stand in for sheer size.... but also in reference to shape and perkiness.... it could also have to do with styles of bras. Quite a focus on bras being made to make things drool-worthy(?) when you put them on display. Emphasis also seems put on bra styles to encourage putting things on display as well.

I'm actually not very well endowed in that area and have heard nothing but praise, it doesn't bother me at all... and I'm not much for false advertising... so I find it is ridiculously hard to find a bra that doesn't make me look one or even two sizes larger than I actually am. There's a lot of emphasis on bigger/fuller/perkier is better.

I know of one woman, but I know of a few more who've considered it. I've also heard stories of parents buying their daughter implants as a high school or college graduation present.

I don't understand it... Then again, I'm more of a vag man anyhow

I do know a few who've had it done and guess what? It doesn't seem to have revolutionized their lives.

It's all about how they carry themselves, which in turn stems from their self-confidence. Getting a boob job doesn't change the fact that they are insecure.

This woman I knew had implants for a couple of years. She later had them removed for some medical reasons! Some of my girlfriends wear specialty bras to increase their bust by 1 to 3 sizes. Everytime you turn around it seems there's a new bra style on the market.

I'd say 90% of the females I know wear push-up bras. Wish I had known this in high school... I thought everyone but me was just magically bustier than me. Not the case.

I don't know of anyone personally who's had a boob job.

Sidney I know what you mean, I basically only wear a bra if it's cold. And at work. Just in case it gets cold... unexpectedly. Wouldn't want to be in a serious meeting with erm ahh... a couple of perks...

Hhheeeyyy... stop talking about going braless, or some of the males here are going to have to try to hide that "low beam"
