After a recent conversation, the question came up?

Are we bleesed or punished in "This" life, depending on how our past lives were?

So far has it all been one big life, with different chapters and we are different people?

    What is your views?

(This thread is not intended to upset anyone with strong religious views and beliefs)

I think we are. It always seems that even the nicest of people come up with the most misfortune.

I also read a story once about this little boy. They think he was reincarnated from a World War 2 pilot. He had a fascination for planes and he often talked about one of the pilot's war buddies. His parents had no idea until they decided to look it up.

I want to believe that reincarnation is true. There's a saying a lot of the older folks in my family use for a younger children who seem to know a little much about the adult world "She has been here twice before."

I'm sorry my thoughts are so all over the place. This just made me think of those things.

It's not a matter of being "blessed" or "punished", it that we have things to learn. We are indeed spirits having a physical experience. Some spirits choose to have a limited number of physical experiences, others return again and again for a variety of reasons related to their own development and to facilitating the development of others.

Most beings get so caught up in the physical experience that they forget why they are here or even that they are not just physical creatures. They get caught up in bizarre behaviors, are destructive, follow religions, try to control others when they can't even control themselves, they are generally full of fears and anxieties and jealousies and addictions and collecting stuff and they just wreak havoc on themselves and everything around them. Poor things. They get so out of balance that they think somehow this is what they are supposed to be doing.

We are all part of the All That Is. Each individual but part of the whole. There is no "judgement' by others but rather a time of transition when you see truly what you did in the flesh, why you really did it and you experience the effects that had not just on yourself but on all around you. So if you did something kind, even if it was small, you will feel the effect it had on others. If you did something mean and cruel, raped someone for example, you will feel what they went through physically and emotionally, you will also experience what that did to those around them - this not about punishment but about learning and growing but depending on what you did, it could be a pretty awful experience. Basically it comes down to there is no "away" for what you do. Just like trash, you may put where you can't see it but its still there. Its all about balance, learning and growth toward evolving into a higher level being.

Growth isn't always pleasant and easy but it doesn't have to be as ugly as humans have generally made it.

Very well said WC, and I believe also that even the little small things we do to help other people, do have an affect. And I suppose all things we do have a negative and positive effect.

In the conversation with CW, she had said I was an "old soul". So I do now believe that we may carry on traits and somethings from our past lives, like Ccraig said about the little boy with the love for planes, he carried it on.

And then again they do say De javu is where you get that feeling like you've been there before or done the same thing before, and who knows, maybe we actually have??

Just as different religions and belief systems believe or don't believe in reincarnation, there's also deliberation on its nature. I believe it's normal for followers of Hinduism to think of it as a punishment or blessing. I belong to a similar belief system as WC, so I don't see it that way.
In each life, you have something to learn. If you fail to learn it in one life, you have another chance in the next. But you don't necessarily get away from that lesson until you learn it.
I'm quite certain that one of my exes "followed" me from the last life. There was a lot of leftover energy between us, despite that we 100% did NOT need to be together in this life. He hadn't finished dealing with his lessons from the last life, though from some recent activity I think he finally has resolved it.

A lot of people have said this to me.... even when I was very young, I didn't understand completely but I knew there were adult things I understood that other kids my age didn't.
Now I work with mostly females that are anywhere from 20 to 35 years older than me, we all come to each other for advice and they've told me several times that I'm much wiser at 23 than some of them are at 50.

I want to believe in reincarnation and past lives but I have a real hard time with the idea. I am purely material, purely physical, I am a person..flesh and bones not a spirit or ghost. I do not believe in spirits, a soul, or high existence controlling everything from my decisions to my feelings. Nothing like that to me exists simply because I believe in the physical not the immaterial. But at the same time I want to believe in reincarnation and all that jazz because it sounds a lot fancier than reality. Reality says you are stuck here deal with it go get a job make money and hope things work out for you, past life idea says what happened in your past life can help guide you in what you do today even if you are having a tough go at life.

I think that it's difficult if your profession is based on logic, physics but then transplants often proove interesting in as much as new characters emerging, traits that were not there that the deceased parents pick up as do the person whom had the transplant perhaps there is something there to ponder.

People say I wish I was a dog in my next life, why? Because they eat, sleep, get their love, play, eat, sleep etc...no stress.

People say that pets do not have souls... They hear a tone in the command not the words, to that I say bollocks... A cat stops the clock at the time of death, as a human soul has many a time, a cat leaves a message, dry clump of fur floating on the swimming pool, yet never before had this occured in all those years and the cat lived out the front not the back. And, you can easily reach a rabbit, bird, mentally where by they do not need to be caged and their personalities shine and they act like a dog, however, they still poop everywhere, although I did train one to use a kittylitter, and you can whisper a word, point, or shout and a dog will understand, it's not the tone of your voice so the question is then, they do have a soul and they can act like a dog or cat, so what were they in their past lives....

I have always believed, there are 7 planes and I've written this before here...

A lost soul is still here searching having no idea how to leave the earth until shown, thereby perhaps never being here before.

And a soul that has lived many times is wise, knowledgeable without knowing how they can be so knowledgeable especially about the un-known and about "knowing things about people", but they just know they have been here before.

Things they don't like such as new Churches, yet an old Church makes them feel warm and they don't even go to Church.

I believe we choose our parents, based on which plane we want to get to, what level we want to get to, and in that it may mean we have alot to deal with on this Earth, this time, but as WC stated, it's not physcial we have to remember that's a body but we forget and get down about all that happens....If only we remember, they are the lessons we knew before we got here that we were going to have to learn.

They say just before death your life flashes before you like a video, I can testify to that one, only I wasn't going to die, I believed that I was going to die, that was it.... And they say at the end of that video (60 sec), you feel peace, calmness and light . Guess I can testify to that one too, but it was so short lived as reality came back as I fought then to survive and well obviously did

I think an old soul is somewhat spritiual . Their minds are open and allows what science can and will explain, esp, astro travelling, jewelery reading, physcic, ghosts, but to me it's part of being an old soul, you've been here before, and you know what happens after death, as you've been there too, it's not science.

When I said AA you are an old soul, I could say the same for Little when I met her at 19, so to speak... Neither of you represent a 19 year old, (or did Little) It's not just the maturity it's the wisdom and in some ways leadership, teaching, and for you AA your posts are wise, so that's leadership to some people should they wish to listen...

WC must have been a Goddess as she is the queen of the sex section on this Forum

I keep seeing 1800's with me, always have.... But, then I get mixed thoughts when I see things of the past as If I can feel that, been there, so I guess for me I believe that I have been here definately more than once, twice, thrice...

After reading that post CW, it really makes me want to explore or atleast try to find out who I was in a past life, what I was like and so on.

I kind of feel now, that even if I learned that much it could help me see why I've been set this path in this life.

I believe that our past lives too reflect who we are today also, science as you said can explain things, but it's the wisdom, knowledge and personality that varies and I believe it has come from our past lives, and don't think there's a way science can prove other wise.

I'd suggest that ItsASecret, allow your mind to open to the possibilty of believing in re-incarnation. I think it's a beautiful thing to believe in

I don't know how you do that

    Hypnotherapy....

A list of things you like in life that seem to be old, ancient and google and explore all of that until this intuition seems to show you, you know of that place, been there before, or the person.....

I just personally like exploring at present, there are no negatives and to turn them all into positives so that I can forget the body and go with the soul....
