I'm not sure if this fits in I guess it does.

We are going to Melbourne in a week and a bit for our duel birthday celebrations so I googled "what's on in Melbourne" and up came something that really shook me, made me cringe.

You can arrange to be locked in a coffin and driven in a hearse as a tour - seriously? I don't even think that, that is acceptable in my opinion let alone fun.

There were huge National Flip Flop Day celebrations all over the city Friday, lol.

Aren't the regular holidays strange enough? I mean, Easter for example - think about it!

Here we have Several Oddball ( sounding at least ) Holidays.

    We Have Bumpershoot.
No we don't shoot Bumpers, it is another work for Umbrella up here lol

Bumbershoot in Seattle is a huge 3-Day Party that celebrates the end of Summer with a really-spectacular showcase of with more than 2500 Artists, displaying their Eclectic and Cultural Masterpieces from all over the world.

We have the Bite Of Seattle.

First introduced to the Seattle area in 1982 at Greenlake with 26 Restaurants and 1 Entertainment Stage, the ` Bite of Seattle ' has grown into one of Seattle's largest Summer Festivals, with more than 50 of Seattle's finest Restaurants... 30 Food Product Companies... 5 Beer Gardens... live Entertainment... a Comedy Club... Piano Bar... Wine Tasting... and more!

    And the Famous Sea Fair

For over a 1/2 Century in Seattle ... Seafair Seattle has been an annual tradition for both locals & visitors alike. Celebrated for just about a month ... usually until the first Sun in August, Seafair Seattle is the largest Festival in the Northwest and is rated one of the Top 10 Events in the Country.

There's always something for everyone at Seafair, from Arts & Crafts to live Music... huge Parades... Triathlons... Festivals and more!. Major Events include the Milk Carton Derby, Torchlight Run & Parade, the KeyBank Air Show featuring the famous Blue Angels, and General Motors Cup Unlimited Hydroplane Races held on beautiful Lake Washington.

There are so many Festivals here during late spring through early fall. because
SEATTLE - Only averages 58 sunny days a year.

As for the rest of Seattle's days, we average 226 cloudy days (4th most in the U.S.) and 81 partly cloudy days. Of all those days, we get 155 days of rain a year

    Wig's and wellies bicycle race.

Men dress up as women and wear wigs and wellie's and race on old bicycles!

There's a thing called Rose Of Tralee in Ireland here, but recently they held a "Rose Of Tranee" lol. Again men dressing up as women!

All these are usually fun events in aid of charities though.
