We've had threads here before on how you found WH, but what was it that actually compelled you to quit lurking and to register?

Was it that you were wanting to discuss a certain issue anyway and came across WH during your search for a forum to help you, or were you lurking for a few or weeks - maybe even longer - and decided that you wanted to join in on the discussions?

My story is the same as the one about how I found this place. A friend had told me about a BBC documentary on body image issues and breast size, and when I googled the name, a thread here by a woman worrying about her boobs being too small was among the first results. I lurked for maybe five minutes, or however it took me to browse through the thread, and then I just had the urge to respond, even though I didn't know how a man posting in a forum for women would be received. http://www.womens-health.com/boards/...tml#post112812

I lurked on this forum for over a couple of years before finally registering. I don't know why it took me so long to register, but it was funny because I felt as if I'd known everybody by that time and here I was, just a noob to everybody else.

Even funnier, I thought this place was only about sex, that is the section I only ever lurked on. It wasn't for almost a year into my lurking that I clicked on "New Posts" and saw, WOW... There are a lot of other sections, other ones that I'm interested in too. I think a few months after that is when I finally registered. Can't remember exactly.

Luckily I didn't get banned as my first post had a link, lol. WC and her kind heart and all.

I think you were the first person to reply to my post.

It's funny, I believe my post was in the General Beauty & Style section, and the rest of that forum didn't seem THAT exciting, but it took me a little while to realize that, hey, there are other forums on this site, like the Sex forum and The Lounge.

I believe I was as well. I just knew you would be a great voice for this place. Luckily you stuck around after some poking and prodding.

I was searching for help on specific things and this site would randomly pop up with a post in it. Over a few months I came back occasionally just to read new posts, sometimes old posts. I was amazed at how much information and perspective I was able to gain by there being so many supportive and helpful people here.

Actually, I can say I have never seen a post where a person was "flamed" which I find pretty amazing and rare for an online forum. That was probably the biggest draw that led me to register.

I have no recollection of why I ended up here. I just know I did, and I stayed.

I registered mainly to try to understand just how perimenopause effects women. Yeah, I've read a whole bunch of stuff on line and had a pretty good idea what it was and alot of the symptoms, but no real understanding. And just as it's a process that women go through, it's a process of learning and understanding. Still going through that process.

After that, I just found the people here too engaging.
There will always be boundries, but making love is so different, than having sex, let's face it. CW

Uh huh. "I have no recollection" = lawyer talk for "I don't wanna tell"

Meaning your first post(s) must have been about an embarrassing issue. Time to try to find the first thing BD ever posted here

I registered, because I was in a predicament that I felt I really needed some help with, was worried and even ashamed that I was involved and possibly might get even more involved.
    I was " Raked " through the Emotional coals " .

Answered every Question, In Long Form, Pages after pages ...
    Lol..

Felt every word that was Responded to me. Digested and Seriously took Advise and Experience of most here . Read a few other than * mine threads, * and Opened my Big mouth..

It isn't a problem yet that I noticed.

I lurked for at least a year maybe longer. i was "researching" women's reactions and came accross the site and found the discussions so honest and straightforward that I continued to "evesdrop"; until I just "had" to express a different view...on a male's view of porn that I believe a woman poster was asking about. I still like to read a lot more than "post".
