Tis the season

Happy Independence Day to all my fellow Americans!! =] What're your plans?

We were going to grill out, but it's raining here. So I'm probably going to cook some kabobs on a skillet or figure something else out.

I have some Sahlen's hot dogs (hard to get outside of NY, expensive to ship, and wildly delicious!!) that I intend to grill. Maybe on the George Foreman, if weather isn't permitting. My husband works in retail, so he's got a busy day today. I'm looking forward to the eats and the fireworks

Baby got to see a few fireworks over the past couple of days, but we don't shoot off many.

We were planning on a backyard cookout but it will be without my husband, he has been called to work. My sister in law, her daughter and boyfriend; my brother in law and his wife; and my husbands partner are coming over. Me and my sister are fixing huli huli chicken, ono macaroni salad, lomi lomi salmon and other island favorites. Some of them will be drinking, we have beer, wine and hard stuff. I'm making some virgin Mai-Tai Punch, they can add their own rum/vodka if they want.

My husband says to go on with the party and he would try to swing by for some lunch and to save him some for when he gets home. He will be helping patrol the concert and fireworks display at La Jolla Cove. It will be the first time I had a party in this house without my husband and I'm a little nervous.

I'm doing nothing 'cos I'm sulking about losing the colony from Britain ! Seriously though, have a smashing time my American friends. Just don't burn too many effiges of British people will you.
