I'm allergic to cats, so I'll go with hairless.

(and I mean actual cats, because I just realized I was initiating a thread hijack )

Cats are generally self washing. We've had cats for 20 years now, never had a reason to bath them. I'd only do it in a real emergency, say if they got some toxic substance on them.

Brushing their fur with a very soft brush is usually enough, and something they enjoy.

One warning - kittens will eat all sorts of small objects. Please be very very careful with this - especially pills. A dropped pill can turn into a kitten- toy, and then get eaten - and the human sized dose will kill the kitten.

My first cat had a lot of white on her. After a bath the white areas would look so much whiter that it was obvious she needed the bath. When she would start to look dingy, my mom would keep asking me when I was going to give her a bath.

Zen is more of an attitude than a belief.

Really, it's entirely up to you and there is nothing at all wrong with wanting to, or washing a cat, we are all just advising what "vets" have installed in us, all-be-it some got sidetracked for a bit And usually it's the moggies that play so much in the dirt...Your cat really only goes outside with you, to do her business so may not need as much work as you think....
Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
    you must believe!
