I've heard of women getting semen out of the condom or catching it in their mouth and preserving it to inseminate themselves. It's ridiculous and cruel.
I saw an article recently that this has become more common: Women engaging in sexual activity that wouldn't normally lead to pregnancy (condoms, oral, etc), the secretly trying to inseminate themselves. Court cases that I've seen suggest that the courts generally order full child support from the father, even if they accept that deceit was involved since child support is intended to protect the child, not the mother.
Its very hard to tell how often this happens (though I am suspicious this may have happened with one couple I knew). (wealthy young man, woman becomes pregnant, dumps him immediately afterwards, but collects child support - he was taking reasonable precautions).
If this really does happen, then I wonder how any man can possibly risk using the services of a prostitute, or have a one-night stand. They are exposing themselves to a possibly unwanted life-long commitment.
BTW: in case it isn't clear, I think doing this is a horrible act, unfair to the father and child.

I had a friend get ensnared into marriage because of something like this. He was considering leaving her because she is mentally abusive to him, but when she found out she "all of a sudden" got pregnant. He didn't want to abandon the child, so he asked her to marry him. We begged him not to do it, but it's just how he is. I can't fault him for wanting to support his child the best way he possibly can.
It's a horrible thing to do and I hope that karma catches each and every woman that does it.
Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important. ~Ambrose Redmoon
I guess there's also telling him she's on birth control, leaving off the birth control without him knowing, and if there is a pregnancy, pointing out that pills aren't a guaranteed safeguard against pregnancy.
Karma always does. Somewhere down the road, they'll regret their insane decision.
Umm. Ewww!!!! Is this even possible? I thought once semen was exposed to air it was done for. Holding it in their mouths? Grody.getting semen out of the condom or catching it in their mouth and preserving it to inseminate themselves. It's
It just all seems so silly. I don't have kids...but I know many that do, and child support without the prescense of father doesn't even begin to cover the costs both tangible and intangible of raising a child. Hard to imagine people being so foolish.
I know that unfortunately some women are for whatever reason so desperate (or at least they think they are) to have a baby that they'd do just about anything to make that happen.
It goes back to my thoughts that birth control for men (another subject!) has been deliberately overlooked for years and years while women have accepted in lots of cases, full responsibility for pregnancy prevention. Perhaps it's time science and medicine lets men become empowered in their own prevention methods. Yeah, there'd be side effects...there'd be pains and sacrifices, but probably far less than what a woman experiences.

LOL Tex... or they'd just produce x-men babies!
I second the male birth control thing. Typically the argument I've heard has been that it's easier to create birth control for women as it only has to stop one egg, whereas birth control for men has to stop millions of sperm. That argument made sense to me before, but now I think it's a load of you-know-what. Modern science can handle tiny little sperm. What's the real excuse, I wonder!
Birth control for women is easier because the body already has a mechanism to prevent a second pregnancy while you are already pregnant. There is no equivalent for men.
People have called this ridiculous, and maybe it is, but I think it is also a horrible act, basically a form of rape: you are forcing a lifelong commitment onto an unwilling person.
Might also be effectiveness of something. Women are only fertile a few days out of a month and less likely to get pregnant anyways. Where guys are for the most part always fertile and could get a woman pregnant at any given time(of course there are always exceptions). Maybe they could get a shot, kind of like Depo Provera, since it takes 70-some odd days for sperm to mature. Every other month they get a shot to kill them all off. But then I also wonder if the amount of people infected with STDs would rise if condoms were maybe used less as a result of eliminating most of the worry of unwanted pregnancy??
