    Greetings All !

This has to rank as one of the most strange questions ever asked in this forum but I figured there were as many, if not more, electronic geniuses in here as anywhere else.

Does anyone know how to recover deleted pics from an iphone4? Ultimately, I'd like to recover them and move them to my home PC (which is not a Mac but a Windows machine).

    ANY helpful feedback is appreciated.

    Thank you.

I did a quick google search, and the techy people pointed out something. Cell phones don't have hard drives like computers do, so, unfortunately, there is no way to recover items from your phone.

iphones have flash memory (same as digital cameras) that is configured as storage, not true memory (true memory can withstand an almost unlimited number of read write cycles, flash memory has limits: in many cases about a million write cycles). As such, if the iphone can be attached to a computer and have it show up as a hard drive, hard drive file recovery software should work. Hopefully the files are not overwritten.

I Googled [iphone picture recovery] and got hits back using software for Linux or BSD, MacOS and Microsoft Windows.

Google for a program called "CardRecovery". They claim to be able to Recover images and video files from mobile phones. I've never used it, if you try it let us know if it works.

I'd be careful with that program. It looks to me (and, hey, I could be wrong) that the "good" reviews are just a little too good. But, the "bad" reviews seem to be a bit more genuine. Good "cardrecovery" reviews and look through a few of the pages that pop up. $40 is a lot of money to toss at something that may not work, and from the looks of it, there isn't a way to get your money back if it fails, since it is a download. Good luck, though.

CW - Trust me when I say...you don't want to see nude pictures of me...even if you weren't crazy in love with your man...and were desperate...

Everybody else - I was told by a "file recovery" software developer/manufacturer that Apple does not allow any of their devices to be recognized as drives at all. So, to the best of his/their knowledge, no 'recovery' software will work to recover anything from an Apple device.

Has anybody else heard this? Know this? Believe this to be true?

A wise man once told me..."Never buy anything from Apple except the stock. You don't need the gadgets and the stock will only go up as people ignore this advice and think they do" The stock was trading at around $20.00 U.S. at the time...it just passed $400.00 U.S. recently...

Some people are very wise indeed.

Certain iPods can be used as an external storage device, but not the iPhone, unfortunately. Maybe the geniuses at the Apple Store can help you out?

Haha, well I must disagree with that guy... I LOVE Apple products, I don't know what I would do without my iMac and iPhone. I've had but 2 problems with my computer since getting it in late 2007, never gets viruses, runs all my graphics programs perfectly, and it's sooooo pretty! Never had a problem with my iPhone... the only thing I don't like is Apple doesn't allow Flash, but I think there is a compromise between Apple and Adobe on the way to address that. It's true that Apple does place some restrictions on some of their products, but it doesn't seem to be significant enough to make people stop buying them lol.
