I think a more accurate statement would've been " It SEEMS like in most countries, most the criminals are men". Stating that in EVERY country most criminals are men indicates that you have in fact researched every country and are stating this as a fact.

Do you think men are more evil than women?

Actually, it's an unfair statistic to begin with. If you look at the crime rates, you also have to look at the arrest rates. Is it that men commit more crimes, or that more men get caught/punished? Having been arrested before, I have to wonder how much easier it is for women than men to get the "system" on their side. Granted, of the 6 women in the holding cell, I was the only one that was polite and respectful, and the only one to not have to go through processing... so...

I don't think it has anything to do with one gender being more or less "evil" than the other.

I don't think it has anything to do with gender either. In fact, IMO, the crimes women commit can be a lot more horrendous than those that men commit. Like rose said, it is probably just a matter of more men getting caught and punished.

You would also have to look at types of crime, and if it was even reported. Most of the time, it seems, (although, it may be changing, I would need to research it more), if a woman has sex with a minor, it's generally not cared about. If a man has sex with a minor, it is very likely he will go to jail for rape. So, there are some crimes that men and women are held to different standards on.

Totally agree with this. There are definitely some double standards in this regard. So, I don't think it can be as B&W as rayner makes it out to be.

Rayner to me, it depends on "what" crimes.

You talk about evil.. Was Hitler evil? I think so, Manson? I think so. Women whom kill their babies in order to have a better life? I think so. But there, there is also equality, two, a man and a woman whom prey and kidnap and rape young girls for years, that too is evil.

What you see on the news is or usually is the most horendous, something that shocks. That is news. And if you really look at it, it's broad, we have seen all of the above through the media.

Evil.. People fits that word not one or the other.

Petty crimes? Maybe men take more risks, or maybe the girlfriends assist but don't do the hard work, and so, the men get caught out more..
