WOMEN have a Ł217million fortune stashed away in “handbag funds” to spend on themselves, new figures show.
One woman in 10 has an average of Ł87 hidden from their partner, which they plan to blow on their dream handbag. Others have secret caches for all sorts of shopping treats, according to the report published by Skipton building society.
The firm’s Tracy Fletcher said: “Everybody has a savings aspiration, be it a deposit on a new home, a gadget, a mini-break or a shopping treat.”
The study of 1,000 women also found one in 20 are putting cash aside for a “boob job” or other form of plastic surgery. A similar number have a big night out planned with the girls, while eight per cent have their eye on a special pair of shoes.

The only secret I had was wanting a $85,000 vehicle (BMW 550i), it was only a secret because of the sticker price and I figured he would think that saving a lifetime to buy it was crazy but it turns out my bf is as into cars as myself so the sticker price was not a shock to him and he understands why I am so set on one day having that BMW.
