    Just being curious here....

I got mine from reading a lot of relationship books and thought of using them on my profile quote to remind me of the meaning it has for me. So when I start to feel like giving up on petty things, I can look at it/them and find the strength to face the challenge head on with my loved one.

    How about you -

The clearest explanation for failure of any marriage is that two people are incompatible; that is, one is male and the other female. - Anna Quindlen

I'm honestly not sure where mine came from but I know that the first one came from something I was reading and it set off a lightbulb for me. The sond one...I'm also not sure about...but I chose it because it's a reminder to be empathetic which is something I think is very much lacking in our society. Sort of a reminder of kindness.

    "Be what you're looking for."

"The next time you're thinking of kicking someone when they're down, offer them your hand and help them back up instead."

I like both of your quotes. It's a good reminder especially to posters who shun OPs who are genuinely need our help.

Mine is my very own words. It means we shouldn't dwell on our past and allow it to blind us of the present and future. Something I definitely used to be guilty of, but not anymore.

Very meaningful, Kristalyn. But then my culture has a counter saying, which goes... You can never reach your goal if you fail to look at what's behind you. Others take the meaning differently, but I take it as learning from your past and moving on, which is different from what you're saying but is somewhat related.

My next question is: Do you think posters read our quotes often and really ponder? I personally DO read and sometimes silly quotes make me smile - which brings me the idea of having a theme of quotes to post on our signature (quote) per month just for fun (i.e. something funny, compatibility, office/work, friendship, parenthood, fitness, motivation/demotivation, etc.). Just wondering what you all think.

lol mine came from my intense distaste for illiteracy. I cannot stand it when someone cannot spell words even remotely correct so I Googled "dictionary quotes" and wallah. The quote itself makes sense too.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

Hah! Which reminds me that "melty" is a new word and the president of Mirriam-Webster had it added RELUCTANTLY!
    Fast Foods invented it!

Mine as a reminder to be empathetic with all, especially when I don't feel like.

One is a lyric from Motion City Soundtrack that I think describes my relationship well ... my husband is definitely my "permanent kiss."

The other is a personal objection to referring to women by their gender without denoting that they're human beings :P
made one wish for a permanent kiss that would echo through these bones like arsenic

Women are female (adj,) but not females (n.) We aren't dogs.

Mine is because I am a worrier. I have to constantly remind myself what is in the past is in the past, what only matters is today and the furture will come one day at a time. The only thing I have control over is today and only today. You cannot change the past, you cannot predict the future. Be thankful for what you have and work with what you're given. Afterall- you never know if there will even be a tomorrow, so why not try to make the best of today.

Easier said than done, but that's why I have it on here. A constant reminder when I'm being a worry wart!
~Today, any person can fight the battles of one day It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's- yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~
