Default Is Having a Myspace Cheating?

I have a question does anyone on here have a myspace? If so do you think that when you have one and you have guys on your profile that on occasion send you messages. Would you consider that cheating if you only exchange hellos with them, and not called them or went out with them? Would a boyfriend, or husband have a reason to get mad in your opinion?

Default It depends

I define cheating as any act that my partner dislike me to do in his presence or behind his back.

So ask yourself, if my partner knew about it, would he be mad and uncomfortable?
If the answer is yes then, then you should stay away from myspace. Even if you exchange only hellos with guys, these hellos might develop to something else like they would start flirting with you or whatever.
I am personally not a big fan of myspace.

But if you use it in front of him and kind of showing him what messages you get and have fun together about it, then that should be fine

I certainly don't think so. Many of us have all sorts
of myspace or message board friends, many, if not
all we will never meet.

I talk to lots of people in a day all over the world.

Yes, I do, but what makes it OK is that my husband knows about it.

See when I was with my boyfriend (my kids dad) I told him about my myspace, I even had a picture of him on my page, but I still accepted friend requests from guys. He is a very jelous person so out of nowhere one day he told me to erase it. I didn't want to because I have girlfriends on there and thats the only way I can comunicate with them. So anyways I only brought it up because he called me today saying he saw my page and got mad because I didn't erase it when we were together. But see I didn't really talk to those other people, they were just people on my friends list that I never associated with. Point is he knew about it, and if I had anything to hide I would have never told him I had one. So I was just thinking about that. I personally don't think that its cheating unless you start flirting, calling, or meeting with them.

If you guys are no longer together, then that is none of his business,
you were not cheating, because you simply told him about it.
You are fine

I don't think it's cheating, but I don't keep anything from my husband. If he knew about it then there should not be a problem. I have a myspace & I have a few guy friends. One guy was getting a little out of hand, well both of us so I deleted him.As long as you know where to draw the line I think it's fine.

It depends on how important/trivial something is.

Many years ago, when the Internet first became
commercially available, I was fascinated by the
tech, by the ability to sit in Kingston and communicate
to someone in Malaysia in real time.

One day, while on IRC chat a chap posts;

"Would you like to have cyber sex?"

And me in my innocence said:

"How are you going to get your genitals into the
computer and over the wires to come out at this
end?"

Well, he disconnected.

I think a husband/wife has to be fairly insecure to
consider all forms of communication, esp. over the
Internet as suspicious.

Yes, it can be, but if it has reached the stage where
the wife, for example, is confiding to a stranger on
the other side of a network because she can't talk
to her husband, well the marriage is over.
