i would just like to apologize to anyone i have offended, i started with good intentions when i came to this site, but i made the mistake to engage in bickering with whilhelm.

i easily take offence when someone is pushy with their views, however i know that arguing helps no one. and i will not be arguing any more.

it is much nicer when we can just exchange our views without being jumped on. any way thanks for reading and take care.

That is exactly how I felt after I was engaged in arguments with some of the members, and you were one of them for sometime.

Then I realized that was wrong, I felt that everyone got offended by how strongly I was defending my own believes and ideas.

That did not help me or anyone else.

I have been away from this site for over a month, I was reading the new posts from time to time, but stopped posting.

Maybe this is the right place and time to join you and apologize to you or anyone who was offended by my posts.

Hotdogg, I always love how you put your foot down for sexual freedom inside of marriage ... and against people who cheat! So I won't hold any bickering against you, of course. It happens sometimes.
Housewife, I'll be very glad if you decide to start posting again. I miss having more traditional views given and the informative posts you'd make

There has to be a maturity in understanding
that there are different cultures. There are
no value judgements, there is difference.

To think that the 'morality' outside of your
front door is 'global' is to make a very
parochial error.

I was born into a culture in which we had
arranged marriages, and my generation was
sort of allowed to choose..(and chose wrong
of course, since my generation is the 'divorce'
generation)...
because of that, I can understand people
who come from cultures where arranged
marriages are still practised, and understand
the value of it.

I suppose if I didn't have familiarity with it
I might find it like 'slavery', so could understand
the knee jerk reaction of someone who is
not accustomed to it.

But the attacks, that attitude of you are wrong
I am right, that is what soured the thread.

There were very few 'more information' posts,
most were attacks.

As my Nana used to say " It's not what life throws at you, the adversities or the mistakes, it's the grace and coping skills in which you handle them." You have just demonstrated grace. With this thread you have also taken personal ownership and shown humility as well as maturity. I respect that. It is seldom too late to turn it (whatever it is) around. Life is full of mistakes for all of us. Learning from said mistakes and growing in a positive way is what makes us wiser! There is no shame in being passionate about a personal viewpoint. As long as there is appreciation and respect of someone elses point of view, even if it differs from our own viewpoint. I appreciate you for this gesture.
