what do you women think about tattoos on men..for that matter what do you women or men think about tattoos on women..seems at least 50% of women have them, or at least the parts of the body that one can see..i was at a wedding recently and one young girl had two huge tattoos; one on each breast, from her collar bone to somewhere near her aerola since her dress hid very little..i could not even tell what the tattoos were..usually a low cut dress will tempt me to cast a fleeting glance, but a fleeting glance was not going to tell me what they were..she was standing directly in front of me but i could not bring myself to stare at them long enough to tell you what the "toos" were..if i stared at them would she slap me or what..i mean that was the reason for the "toos" and the low cut dress, right???

"Tattoos" is an interesting topic to discuss. My family, for instance, has the mentality that they are only for sailors or bikers. The next town over, if you have tattoos, then you're a 'skinhead'. I, myself, have five tattoos, all of which I can hide if I like, or show off. (inbetween hips, side, full back and wrist (easily covered by chunky bracelet)) Personally I think men can pull of tattoos much easier than women. My boyfriend just started doing a half sleeve, and I find it very sexy. I find that the tattoo on the lower back of a woman, or a "tramp stamp", to be trite and unattractive. If you're going to get a tattoo, have it mean something to, I mean, your common butterfly? No thanks. All of my tattoos took about a year of consideration before getting them. To make sure that in ten years...yes, I would still like them.

As for the woman at the wedding, stare away. Obviously she wants people to stare or she wouldn't be bragging with that small dress of hers. If she did get angry, just simply tell her you were admiring her body art. People like that should expect questions and looks, it's the same as wearing a quirky outfit, you have to deal with the consequences of your decisions.

    Have you got any?

I don't like tattoos. For me, I can't think of a single thing that I would want on my body forever. I would want something that I could always, always cover up and with today's bathing suit styles, the possible spaces become fewer and fewer ...
As far as other people, they're okay, but I feel like the human body is sufficient. They're not deal-breakers, but I don't find them particularly attractive.

no i don't and really have no desire to ever want one..as for the "tramp stamp", i don't know that i would go as far as to label a girl with that moniker..i know a couple of very attractive and very personable girls with them, but find the tattoos in the lower back very unattractive..small tattoos on the ankle or unseen part of the breast are ok, but large, bright visible ones detract from a girl's beauty IMO..to each his or her own..i saw a girl with a horse (obviously a horse lover) on her arm (another no-no spot for me)..i thot what will that "too" look like when she is 80?.."the old grey mare she ain't what she used to be"..

I had to learn this the hard way I got a tattoo when I was 18 on a whim, a star on my ankle, and I can't say that I was very enthusiastic afterwards. I had to use a tattoo removal cream to get rid of it.

I have four of them but they are all placed so that they are only visible if I choose for them to be and each one has a meaning behind it.

As others have stated, to each his own, but personally I don't find it attractive for females to have them in visible areas such as arms etc., just not very feminine in my opinion.

i wanted to chime in on this topic, if i may...

i have 8 tattoos. hubby doesn't want me to have anymore, which i understand, but i love all of mine and they all have meaning.

when i would get a tattoo, i would have some kind of anxiety about "omg, this is here forever!" but at that point, what are you going to do about it?

i have a nephilim on my left upper arm, an angel on the right upper arm, moons on my left hip, a fairy on my calf, a dragon on my foot, stars on my right hand, a tribal design on the inside of my left wrist, and a choice word that begins with "B" on my bottom!

it seems like a lot to assoiciate meaning to, but i assure you all that when i look in the mirror, i love them all. when i got married, you could see all the ones on my arms and hands, and i thought i would be bothered by it, but hey, that's me like it or not. hubby wished i didn't get the nephilim tattoo, but its there and he still doesn't like it but he doesn't have to.

i am planning to get 2 maybe three more at the moment. i just have to wait for the right time. my sisters and i are getting sister tattoos but one is pregnant so we are going to wait until after then. hubby and i might get band tattoos on our left fingers, but we'll see how that goes.

I understand that all people have different opinions on tattoos, as for me I have a "tramp stamp" as yall are calling it. It is very meaningful to me. I have a cross in the center of it. I did not get it because I cared what everybody else thinks lol I got it because I like it and wanted a tattoo. Do i regret it? No. I know that it will be there forever but It will be just as attractive as my skin is. People think that the tattoo is the only thing that will be unattractive but a tattoo is on your skin and if your tattoo is unattractive then your skin must be too. I don't think it is something that you should be all worried about if you will like it when you get old. I know that if I live to be old I will look at it and say you remember back then.

Tattoos to me are just like jewelry. People (especially women) get them to decorate their bodies and enhance the beauty they already have. If done right, a tattoo can be very beautiful.
I have only dated a couple of men that didn't have tattoos. I like them.
