Thread: Wont Stop Bleeding !

I have 2 children and after my second child in febuary of 1999 I had the Para Guard Copper IUD placed in. In the begining I had no problems with it, just the norm minor cramping 2 days before your period and my cycle lasted a few days longer, no complaints from my husband everything was all good. Well recently in the past year of 2007 it seems i have 2 to 3 periods a month. I recently seen my regular gyn that actully placed the IUD and she checked it and said everything looked good and my pap came back great. Bleeding is still going on and its driving me nuts! has anyone heard of this similar problem?

I had the norplant in the 90's when it was popular. That thing they put in your arm for birth control. At first it was fine, then I started to bleed for longer and longer amounts of time. I repeatedly told my gyn about this and she just kept telling me that I was fine. It got to the point that I was bleeding for 6 WEEKS STRAIGHT!!! I finally went to another gyn and she removed it right there. So, my advice is to get a second opinion.
