We should definitely have an Electronics section, I mean I know this is women's health forum, but for people who want to converse about computers, gaming consoles etc...

Anyway, so I have a laptop, but my keys one though five don't work. does anyone know if i buy a rubber keyboard that goes on top of the keyboard will work?? It is plugged in through a Usb, but i don't know if it serves as a second key type thing. Confusing i know, but the real question is if rubber keyboard work as normal keyboards...if anyone knows can you please share...

    p.s
do we have any gamer girls? i should start a forum just for that hehe

    What a sense of humor.

Can't answer your question, but I did pose a computer question of sorts in The Lounge and others posed other questions under me, so you never ever know, you may not be answering questions on games, you may be answering questions on the technology of computers now...

Perhaps it's just gunk. A majority of computer stores will clean your keyboard for next to nothing, as in take all of the key of completely and re-esemble. The rubber keyboard could be an easy solution, see if the price of that is comparable to fixing the actual keys.

P.S. I am an avid gamer.

I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy, but have next to no time for gaming ... despite that in my living room alone there's an NES, N64, GameCube, PS2, AND an Xbox ... and my roommate has an XBox 360. You'd think we were hardcore, but really we're just retired. There was a thread about gaming a while back; I don't remember what forum it was in, though.
Cleaning my OWN keyboard has broken a few of my keys ... and made my shift buttons wonky ... maybe I should get it cleaned by a professional. I don't know anything about the rubber keyboards, though.

Take Frankie&Zooie's suggestion first before going out to buy a new keyboard.

I would love to talk about games. Other girls who like games? Awesome!

    Final Fantasy ROCKS btw.

    I'm a bit of a tech head, but then I'm a guy...

A USB rubber keyboard would work just like a normal keyboard.

I used to play computer games, but not so much any more. Some of the best:

Tekken Tag Tournament - amazingly complex and strategic fighting game.
BattleZone - 1st person strategy game, build your base, jump into vehicles, get in fights, blah blah.
Goldeneye and CounterStrike - great 1st person shooters.
Final Fantasies VII-X - solid RPGs. (seen the film FF: Advent Children?)
    Oblivion - 1st person RPG

^all relatively old, but then the best games are old, better graphics has done little for gameplay.

Lol, just happened to stumble into this thread and almost didn't scroll all the way down!

I was wondering if I did that the proper way or if I should have just PM'd you or another mod with the poster's name.

There's a little triangle with an exclamation point in the upper right of every post/reply. If you hold your mouse over it, it says "report" or something like that and if you click it you're taken to a field to type in the reason for reporting the thread. I just typed in the reason "spam/advertising" and hit send! I guess it gets sent to all of you.

I just saw all of those posts and was like "Arg!" so looked for a way to do something about it.
Well some people say that you shouldn't tempt fate, and for them I can not disagree. But I never learned nothing from playing it safe; I say fate should not tempt me. I take my chances.
