I'm starting this thread so it can be used as a discussion board for those of us who have experience with using sex toys. Please keep the discussion serious (a little humour is always welcome). Don't let it turn into a porn thread because it will be killed.

My SO and I have a reasonably-sized bag full of sex toys. Some were a waste of money, some are very special friends. Sex toys are normally obscenely expensive and you don't get to "test drive" them, thus we are at the mercy of either the ads (never believe the ads) or just plain guessing. I have my doubts about some of the reviews that you can read on some very legit sites selling toys. Who knows who really writes them.

Thus, I'm asking for your experiences with different toys. NO LINKING ALLOWED! Just mention the name/brand and we can all find it via Google. Only talk about toys you have personally tried. No hersay.

If you liked a certain toy please explain WHY you liked it. Same for toys you did not like. We are all different and what may not be good for one could still be good for another.

Example: My SO needs vibrators that have a lot of power, otherwise they do not give her what she is looking for. That is probably not true for many other women.

Please share you knowledge, but in a helpful professional way. This post is already too long so I'll stop now and put the knowledge we have in a separate post.

If you object to people using sex toys then please just ignore this thread. This thread is for poeple who already enjoy using toys, or are interested in try some.

First post to my own thread. These comments are based on personal experience by either myself or my lady.

For beginners, especially if you are a little embarassed to go into a sex shop, try and electric toothbrush. That is what she started with. Easy/cheap to buy, and not embarassing to have lying around.

We tried a Feeldoe but she did not like it. Said it did not give her any control. We know use a proper strapon with leather harness.

My lady loves her rabbit. There are many many different trypes/brands. Any of them would probably make you smile.

We have a strapon from Doc Johnson. Are pleased with it, about to buy a bigger dildoe, we have BOTH "out grown"the one that came with it.

For handjobs: Lubricating oils are strongly recommended. Normal lubs like for fisting or KY is NOT what you should use. There are silicon based ones. Expensive but only a few drops are needed. They stay slippery forever.

Into whips? Don't buy them from sex toy shops. Very overpriced. Go to any good sports shop that sells stuff for riding. They will have a wide variety of whips (crops) at very reasonable prices.

Vibrators for G-Spot: We have never found one that was worth the money. Human fingers are the but toy we have found so far.

Here is own that will make you laugh. Tied in the number one spot in my lady's list of favorite toys is not a sex toy at all. It is a product sold to assist in scrubbing around faucets (taps) corners of tiles, etc. Looks like a giant toothbrush. It is marketed as a "Sonic Scrubber." Walmart sells them in US. Only cost about $10. What a deal.

My lady calls hers F1 (as in race cars) becuase it can pleasure her so VERY quickly. And I mean quickly. It is noisy, very noisy. But if the environment can accept the noise, give it a try. And if you don't like it you can always clean the tiles with it.

That is all I'll share right now. It is up to you out there to contribute.

Question: Is the Hitachi Wand as great as they say it is? And there is one called something like the Euroscillator. Supposedly great reviews, but expensive. Any users out there.

What type? Short like a riding crop? You (a girl person?) like suing it on your partner? Is partner boy or girl.

My lady has one too and she really loves using hers. I'm not sure I can saw I'm all that pleased to be on the receiving end.

I've only ever used one- the Rampant Rabbit Thruster. It does live up to the reviews I read about it and is a very enjoyble and effective toy. The two motors, one for thrust action and another for clitoral stimulation can be operated simultaneously or separately as you wish. Only thing I would say is the thrust, although quite pleasant is not half as powerful as I would like

The Hitachi Magic Wand

It's big, it's expensive, it's heavy and it's noisy... It is a 'vibrating massager' which apparently is good for relieving muscle tension as well as sexual stimulation... I can say, that it is useless with sore muscles, but it does give you an excuse if someone finds it who shouldn't. It has two settings, powerful and industrial. It is to be used externally only, although you can get heads for it which allow for penetrative use, although I haven't tried them. It is mains powered, meaning no messing around with batteries, although that sometimes results in a frantic search for an extension cable, haha. Or moments like in a film where someones chasing someone with a buzzsaw or something and the power plug gets unplugged just before they get to them.

As for it's actual usage, it is great for a number of reasons (and this is coming from a man, btw):

It doesn't require serious precision... With pellets and similar, precision is often key, which is fine if you want 100% of your concentration to be on precise control, but its pretty hard to be precise if you are recieving pleasure too.
