have you ever tried vegetarianism? i would definitely consult your doctor before making any changes in your diet. but i am happy to hear you are considering switching to a healthier, alternative lifestyle! for me, it has been the best thing i could have done for my body, but everyone is different. there are many vegetarian & vegan substitutes for most of the foods you enjoy. my advice would be to take it one step at a time. maybe cut out beef first, then after a week, try cutting out another animal product if you feel comfortable doing so. however if you find you have any cravings for meat, by all means go for it: by denying your body of what it's craving, it will make the transition a hard one. there are several books & websites out there devoted to cruelty - free diets. you can start by going to the peta website and requesting a FREE "vegan starter kit" which i found very resourceful. if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!
