I hear ya! Hard to deal with a child trapped in an old man's body!!! LOL.
Generally, as far as I know, men are hard to teach. You can't make them do whatever it is you think they should do. I guess the best thing for you to do is to let him be. He will learn (I hope). I sometimes act that way as well. I procrastinate and then it's too late.
Meh! Maybe after surgery and he's already fully recovered, he can try cycling. I saw a man cycle with one prosthetic leg from the knee down and did so well for 50 miles.
Maybe you can start on your own just riding a single bike around the neighborhood. You can look up some facts - benefits of cycling (in relation to his ACL issue). How is he by the way?
I do it too. Lol
Whoops, just posted a message to you on my own profile hahaha and lol. Do have a look, its different to this one. Funny you signing up to do the about.com (is that the link) exercise programme because I did the 6 week one for beginners a while ago! Its good to have a few new exercises to try . I have just bought an edition of a Womens Health mag (Australian) that is chokker full of even more new exercises and tips to stay fit. Great buy. I can't wait to try them out. Not tonight though because it is late and I get too stimulated when I do too much too late.
Have you both considered buying a tandem bicycle? We have one and we rode it for 50 miles last month. It is like my hubby's training so he can ride his first 100 miles (which he already did). His co-worker has enlisted him to train for Iron Man (a triathlon) in 2 years. Hubby and I will be attending a "learn to swim" class in December (hopefully) as part of the preparation for the triathlon. I am also planning to do it anyway. What is your plan so far? Do you think you can get into cycling? It is gentle than jumping and running. Maybe we can get together sometime on an event somewhere. :-D
Oh, hubby and I are p**pers - we don't celebrate it. We have started to do more cycling though and working out as well. However, I am dealing with allergies right now.
Hahaha lol. You seem to be like me Crustal - in for a penny, in for a pound!! Thats how I hurt my ankles - going at it too fast too soon! We never learn do we even after all the wonderful advice out there and all the things we know in our heads, we still insist on going like a bull at a gate and charging on in there!
Glad to hear good news from you! How is the temperature in your area? I don't like cold. Brr...
