hey lady, ive had some dramatic improvement with this over-the-counter alkaline lubricant i found called "pre-seed". i wrote a post about it. http://www.womens-health.com/boards/...lubricant.html

it's helped me more than the baking soda douches or the sitz baths. this is the best i've felt in a long time. thought u might want to give it a try.

thank you so much. even though im still having symptoms, the possibility of normal intimacy makes me feel a lot better emotionally. good luck and keep sharing any progress youre making. since doctors seem to know so little about this, i think its important for all of us who have it to communicate and learn from each other.
  3. Yes the douches are suppose to help the condition. I havent had any problems on the sex front...you might have some increase itching but he will be fine. Just be sure to keep up with your douches. Mine is right before my period too its just a real itchy feeling! It's going to be okay CV is not the worst of it, your guy will be just fine!

My question for you is about how CV affects sexual contact. I'm a virgin as far as intercourse is concerned, but i'm wondering how this will affect oral sex and/or genital contact with my partner. I know CV isn't contagious, but i'm scared that a man would come into contact with my fluids and experience irritation (since i dont have actual intercourse, i dont usually use condoms. i dont want him to rub himself against me and be irritated or itchy as a result). Sorry for the tmi, but this is a question Dr. Marvel couldn't really answer. I've got the discharge and burning under control, so if i had the peace of mind to know that CV won't affect my partner, maybe i could start thinking about the possibility of a sex life again. It's hard enough telling the man youre dating that youre a virgin, let alone giving a CV disclaimer in the same night. As a woman who has a CV diagnosis and a sex life, I'd appreciate any advice you could give me. thank u!

    hi CVSTINKS,

i found u on the'"no growth from cultures" forum but wanted to contact you directly. after a year and a half of symptoms, i finally was referred to Dr. Richard Marvel in baltimore. i'm still waiting on the results of my cultures to see if anything else is going on, but he did officially diagnose me with CV. Ive been looking for other women who have a CV diagnosis for advice.

Dr. Marvel told me to do baking soda douches and/or use cleocin cream as a broad spectrum antiobiotic for treatment as needed. I'm trying to avoid the cleocin and just douche. I've also been taking iron and calcium supplements and drinking alkalized water to try to make myself less acidic. ive definitely seen some improvement; it's right before my period and i have no discharge just an itch...
