You have to have a certain number of posts to be able to message privately, don't remember how many, maybe 12 or 15? But in the pink box that says "Welcome Ms A, you last visited...", you will notice that a private messages link will pop up, at which point you can send messages directly to a single person. Until it does, all you can do is post to my profile, but that's not super-private, I know.
