Hi! It would only let me write so much but I want to warn you about when you find a doctor to remove them make sure they understand that you want both coils removed or make sure that you are comfortable with leaving one in place. Some doctors are only removing one coil if it looks like the other one is in place and some women are waking up to find that they still have a metal coil in their body and really wish it wasn't there.

Hi! I had mine removed laproscopically. I was also told that hysterctomy was the only option. I went to a major teaching hospital because I figured they might be willing to try. I knew full well that I might wake up with a hysterectomy. They tried to look hysterscopically first and see if they could remove them that way but apparently both of them had moved and they could not even see either coil. They then proceeded laproscopically making 3 small incisions. Change doctors and insist that they listen to you. It is your body not theirs. You may need to remind them of that. Let me know if I can help you anymore. I encourage to make a report to the FDA. You may contact me at badprocedure at att . net if you need to.

Kym4, I am new to this site. I had essure done on July 2, 2009, and I have had terrible pelvic pain, back pain, headaches, and nausea since that time. I am looking to have them removed, and my doctor has recommended a hysterectomy as well. I ahve done research and seen alternative methods for removal, but I am having a difficult time finding someone to do it. I have another appointment scheduled with a specialist next Friday. Can you please tell me how yours were removed?
