There is a difference and what we need in the world is a balance between them. Both offer some advantages and some disadvantages. There is trouble when either becomes completely dominate. That is what we have had a long run of and why we are struggling to restructure how we interact.

Great point with men and sports... Its what appeals to us. Excitement adrenaline and competition...

I read an article a while back about 3 or 4yr old children and when shown a short film with a couple talking and a car race in the background. It was over 95% of the girls were focused on the couple and roughly the same amount of boys were focused on the race!

Just goes to show that there is a distinct difference in how different genders relate to the world!

You are right. It goes on from both sides. Some of it is testing, some about power, some sick and cruel. A great deal of it is unconscious action and reaction, often passed on generation to generation. We all engage in some level of it, it's just part of how humans interact and take measure of each other. Those of us who are striving to move past that and to act consciously can have some real problems dealing with John Q Public who functions unconsciously.

Your mention of soaps is on target. I can't watch them or most other television, unless I consciously shut off part of my mind. It is too trite, stupid and very obvious that the charactures create most of their own problems. Yet people are glued to it day after day. I don't see women watching soaps as much different from men watching sports or crime/war shows - it's all about being part of an experience that you have no stake or risk in. It's all vicarious. Yet we humans can become hyper emotional about it to an extreme level.

Women play games with men all the time! Mostly sub-consciously, Using a reward-punishment system...

Example: Most common one I see women gets into a fight with a s.o to figure his investment. Either by apologizing first, noticing there amount of emotional investment into the fight, or by paying attention to how they solve the issue.

All it takes is to watch a soap oprah, they have about 3 or more emotional conflicts between multiple relationships. The directors and actors simulate it perfectly which is why it is so addictive to women...

Even this morning there was a news anchor mentioning how she plays her games when the male said "& you women have your games and they work" she responded "like a charm"... It would be naive to think women dont test men for emotional stability, and status by playing games. Face it men would lie to get sex so women play intricate games!

Didn't mean to start a battle. I have some concerns about men or women treating sex or the way they connect with others and interact as some sort of manpulative game and that is what many of these programs or gurus do. This does tie into my personal beliefs, I'm not religious but am spiritual and do believe that we are here for a higher purpose than eating, sleeping and over reproducing. It is within our relationships with friends, lovers and ourselves that our greatest growth occurs. Both genders have gotten pretty screwed up in how they veiw each other. I don't like reducing it to a formula and it is manipulative of women, whether you realise it or not, whether ill intentioned or not, ultimately this doesn't move people forward. Although I can see that in some cases it is at least an improvement on the past. At some point men and women have to realise that it isn't about either one having the upper hand but about joining forces for the betterment of both and all.
