ALF's real name is Gordon Shumway. He was born on the planet Melmac. Oddly enough, that's what it was made out of. One day, the planet had a nuclear explosion and completely obliterated it. ALF, amongst several others, were able to escape in their space ships. ALF crashed on Earth and was "adopted" by the Tanner Family. Hijinx and hilarity ensued. That is the story of ALF. Now the real explanation: I loved that show when I was a kid. Found it on Hulu and I watch it when I can. OG
