In answer to your question, yes, you can note you source of information. We restrict outbound links across the board because it can become too much of a judgement call as to what is spam or an attempt to direct people to another site.

I frequently refer to places that I think could be a source of additional information for someone. For example, I might say, "check out White lotus east" for more information on tantra. Or I will give a source for information, name of a book, researcher or university that I found the information in. A interested reader will be able to find the information source that way.
