Default Hi I am new here

Thank goodness I found you all!!
I am 44 years old, and have been having irregular periods on and off for the past year or so. I am already on my second period this month and this one is lasting forever. I have always been like clockwork...28 days, 5 days then gone.
Lately I have noticed that they are coming closer usually 18-21 days and have skipped a month here and there.
But now I am freaking out! I tend to be a worrier. Give me something to worry about and I will worry about it until there is no worry left in me!!
Of course, I worry that I have cancer or something absolutely horrible.
I have been bleeding now for 10 days!! I thought it was finally lightening up this morning, but it is back full force and I feel crampy.
I just reassurance...thanks in advance!

I'm new here too, "help...I have too many periods!!" I've been dealing with this on and off for 2 yrs, believe it to be peri -menopause. My doctors tested me cause I was 37 when it all started, their general tests came back showing nothing wrong and basically they said it was in my head, all the depression and 3 times the normal amount of periods! Get real! My herbalist agrees with the peri-menopause and recommended herbs and vitamins. It's worked for almost 2 yrs and now I'm off whack again, although the depression swings aren't as bad, but now I get extreme hot and cold spells.Feeling PMSie all the time sucks! I need to see my herbalist again! I'm in Canada so I know healthcare is different, but I recommend an herbalist and/or obgyn to rule out cancer. I hear peri and menopause causes irregular cycles but it's rare to hear of too many! Good luck to ya!

These are all good questions.. However, don't belong on "introduction" Why not create a new thread pose your questions and then , in the right section you'll get lots of answers.

Plus saves us moving them all over.......

Hi, I have also had the same thing happening and if so many of us are having it then that should tell you chances are that you are fine and just entering a different time in your life. I am 52 and usually have been regular but now my periods are on and off for months at a time, some spotting and then back on again. It can get you down I know but just hang in there its got to get better. I have to say I have been taking some herbs that seem to help, one is Chasteberry but that takes at least three weeks to kick in, but Red Raspberry Leaf has been the most helpful. You can get it in a tea or capsule at your Health Food store. This worked great in making a much lighter flow. If you are bleeding really heavy your doctor can give you something to stop it should you become anemic. Good Luck and try not to worry, we are all going through the same thing.

Denise this was the post that made me join this forum. Go and chat to your doctor, I find it easier talking to a female doctor, lucky for me my surgery has two.

I'm 49 and two years ago my regular as clockwork periods changed and I would miss a month or have just spotting that would last for weeks finally I went to the doctor she told me I was anemic and put me on iron tablets she also sent me to the hospital for tests. After a camera showed polyps or fybroids I had an operation where they took a biopsy to check for cancer. Last week I had the results nothing wrong and after a chat with the consultant he concluded it was the menopause. Since December I have just had spotting but a week ago I had the period from , so heavy I thought I was going to bleed to death and back pain was worse than giving birth. My doctor had given me Tranexamic Acid tablets to take if my period was heavy.
The consultant wants to see me in 3 months to check how I'm doing. So far I'm not getting any other symptoms.

Guy's this is posted in "hi I'm new here" so keep in mind you may need to keep it coming up, or else we will move it to a section that gets more replies.

Keep an eye out only on the heading just in case we move it.
