[QUOTE=Phoebee;73720]Menopause is one year without a period.
thank you so very much!!! I wasn't sure if I was menopause/peri-menopause
now I know I am menopausal
anyone know what herbal supplement I can take to help
Some of those same things are happening to my wife also,
She hasn't had a period in close to 4 months but she get pains in her one ovary that last a couple of days. She'll also get some breast tenderness and bloating as well like she used to. I'm pretty sure that that's to be expected.
Now she'll get some hot flushes at night, nothing too major yet.
It's the other symptoms, especially the emotional ones that are (imo) pretty severe. But they've been going on for a whole lot longer than 4 months so this is leading me to believe she might be a little further along in the process than she'd like to admit.
Lord knows the effects that stress has on one's body no matter what age. I know you're dealing with a whole lot of things that no person should have to deal with so I guess it's not so suprising that some of these symptoms are starting to come back. I was encouraged by what you said in that living a healthier lifestyle is mitigating some of those symptoms. It's nice to see at least one person gets it.
It really is a shame that menopause is still some mystery. That's just plain wrong.

I've been on the pill for 26 years straight.Been on it ever since I had my miscarriage. The dr. told me that I could stay on it through menepause and it would actually help me. I don't smoke and not overweight but by about maybe 10lbs.
Has anyone else been on the pill this long?
What is peri menipause? I'm going to be 45 in April. How would I know if I'm going through peri mempause? I don't have any of the symptoms you ladies are describing.
I'm 42 and I swear sometimes I'm experiencing peri.....not sure though.
I've been on the pill since I was 24 years old. Never had any children. I've always had night sweats as I can never get warm enough to fall asleep (I'm always bundled up) and wake up sweating cuz I bundle up a lot.
I'm always bundled up on the couch while watching TV.....I'm a cold person.
But within the last 6 months or so.....I'll bundle up (as usual) and then not 20 minutes later, I'm WAY too hot and uncover myself. Then....I'll get cold again and cover up. ARGH! Could be other things too I'm sure...but I have a pretty good bill of health. Low blood pressure & low blood sugar (within normal range). Cholesterol is 170 and I go to the gym about 2-3x a week.
So who knows....
My questions are....if I continue to be on the pill - will I even notice any or many menopausal symptoms?
