Default Hormones????

I should have watched the entire show, but I didn't.
Did anyone catch the recent episode of Oprah talking about hormones and how they are helping women feel normal?
I thought hormones had side effects. Is this something new? Something worth checking into?

Has anyone taken hormones? Is it worth it? Are they different types of hormones? What are the side effects?

As you go about your day, nearly 200 hormones course through your body. Hormones act like chemical messengers and affect every cell in your body. Hormones help determine if you're hot or cold, calmed or stressed, and hungry or full. Whether you're asleep or awake, hormones help build bone, regulate menstrual cycles, and many other essential functions.

Recently, Suzanne Somers showed "Oprah" viewers her daily routine of how she uses hormone replacement.

The purpose of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is to bring hormone levels back to balance. Most women that are menopausal experience hormone imbalance.

BHRT is consider to be a "natural" solution to hormone replacement because the hormones used are chemically identical to the hormones that are produced by the human body.

More information about BHRT can be found here.

Suzanne Somers says that BHRT has helped her beat what she calls "the Seven Dwarfs of Menopause": Itchy, y, Sleepy, Sweaty, Bloated, Forgetful and All Dried Up."
