I find that I only have symptoms if my diet gets sloppy and high in sugar or if I'm really stressed. There is another thread for s day or two ago that had some good ideas. Check it out?

Hi Girls! I'm soooo glad I've found this sight! I had my last period 3 months ago and I feel like the rest of you! (Could be a good thing knowing i'm not crazy) I've had anxiety for 15 years and medicated with Paxil (the wonder drug). Since I've started perimenopause I'm dizzy, anxious, tired all the time..blah blah blah. I went to my doctor and he told me that the peri symptoms are a good cause of the way I feel. He then ran a blood test for B12!!! I was REALLY low. The symptoms of lack of B12 is almost the same as menopause!!! I've started B12 shots weekly and I do have to say I feel a bit better but NOT 100%. He said It'll take a few weeks to 6 weeks for that to fully kick in. Being menopausal can deplete your body of well needed vitamins and minerals so take your vitamins! Still all in all I feel like poopy. I was considering a shrink for the anxiety. I know alot ofus have the same problem and some go thru it harder but it doesnt make us feel any better. I love life and everyone in my life...I just have no energy to enjoy it! I'm afraid of loosing control, I sweat all the time and sometimes I fear I'm dying. I think I just need someone to talk to whos going thru the same thing! I try to be positive and then BAM....dizzys and nervousness....GRRrrrrrr...lets talk!

    Unhappy

I'm right there with you! I have all kinds of neuro symptoms, buzzing, electrical sensations, anxiety, etc. Still having my period but am on HRT for about 3 months now. It helps immensely but I still have some symptoms like itching, tingling hands and feet and occasional electrical feeling "surges". This menopause is like a cruel joke of aging! This sucks big time. Just venting....

Default This just cant be Meno can it?

I need serious help. I just dont beleive this can be just Menopause..surely not. Every day i think i,m dying from some terrible rare thing that nobody can diagnose.
Aside from the hot flashes and night sweats i feel absolutely miserable every day. I wake up feeling aweful..go to bed feeling twice as bad. I have very very very few good moments. I,m 51, got told in january that i was peri. I was also going through a really bad sinus infection and ended up having surgery just this month. I put everything down to the Sinus..but nothing has gotten better. In fact i might feel worse. I feel trembly inside, i,m always thinking i might faint.. Head feels like it will explode any minute... tingly crawly sensations in limbs. My feet swelled last night. Not a lot but i noticed it. I get waves of just aweful feelings wash over me and just feel like i will pass out.My head is somewhere else, i have no consentration, forget things.Anxious all the time and i never have been.. When i get a hot flash i get really breathless, like i cant breath.I start panting, hyperventilating. My allergies got worse, my lungs always feel horrible and my throat to. Having had surgery i had to have blood tests, EKG, Chest Xray to make sure i was ok for surgery...Everything was obviously fine. Ive had 2 CT scans of my head (for the sake of the sinus surgery) Obviously nothing but the sinus condition showed up there so i,m sure if it was a tumor or something it would have showed? My last hope is HRT or Bio Identicals to see if this is really Menopause. I dont see how anyone can live through this long term. I dont sleep, ive lost weight because i,m so anxious all the time and i cant get food down. Could it be something else..thyroid maybe? Are the Docs missing something. I,m really scared.everyday seems to bring on a new symptom like the ones i,m having arent bad enough.I also get tinntinus off and on. A high pitched noise in my ear.

    Hi Melanie,

A year ago I was right where you are... I felt so entirely miserable that I was convinced I was dying. Ended up in the ER twice... tons of tests... tons of doctors... thyroid testing.... CAT scans... blood tests... everything came back normal. I lost 25 pounds (needed to but a bad way to do it). Nothing tasted good... could barely get food down. Throat was tight, chest pains, severe anxiety, etc. My hot flashes are more like adrenaline surges... my heart would race, blood pressure would skyrocket and the anxiety just made it worse. It felt like an electrical current was running thru my body and even my teeth felt like they were vibrating. Docs gave me beta blockers and a blood pressure med last December and that helped a bit but I was still pretty miserable. Then I started doing research online and found some forums with other women who were experiencing similar things.

Finally had a long talk with my gyn who gave me some samples of the Vivelle patch. I was hopeful but deep down I really didn't think it was going to help. Within about 10 days, it was like someone turned the switch on and I was almost back to myself again... the difference was phenomenal. I started with the lowest dose 0.025 and about 6 weeks ago I went up to 0.0375. I may go up to 0.050 because I still have occasional symptoms but oh my god they have diminished SO much. I believe Vivelle is a bioidentical hormone.

I've gained back 10 pounds (oops) but oh I cannot believe how much better I feel. I still have some weird tingling and itching in my hands, feet and face right after my period for about a week and then I usually feel pretty good for a week or two.

I highly recommend at least trying some hormones... I don't think I will stay on them forever but at least I know that the majority of my symptoms seemed to be caused by perimenopause. I certainly don't feel 100% but I would say most days are 85 - 90%!

    Hope this helps some!
    Melody

Hi Snowflake1958....I'm going thru the EXACT same thing you are! You are NOT alone and you are NOT going to die, I promise. Axniety sux going thru Peri and I'm to the point I may go see a therapist. My dr gave me .025 Xanax and I take 1/2 tab when I'm feeling BAD...it does help. What I'd like to know ladies is how long after your period stops do you stop feeling this way? I know everyone is different but I dont need this going on for months! Sometimes I can talk to myself and get the anxiety calmed a bit or i take a nap...since I'm sooooo tired anyways and that seems to help to. Snowflake...try to keep busy when you get the thoughts you do...i KNOW its hard...sometimes I jsut want to give up and sit and cry. Does anyone know of anything that will help these symptoms ina more natural form? I know Black Cohosh is good for the flashes but not anxiety.....talk soon!

I went form Peri to Meno in a matter of months so maybe thats why i,m feeling so dreadful. My hormones took a really big dive.I go back and have another blood draw on the 1st July so she can compare them and then i can get on something.I have to..i cant live like this everyday.Ive become really reclusive..dont go anywhere.I,M AFRAID TO BE OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE..Its absolutely crazy.Ive never been like this in my life. Hrmones are really powerful aren they. Why wasnt i told.. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I,m just suprised i,m Meno as ive only gone 6 months without a preiod..not teh 12 months htey tell you before your considered meno....whats up with that
Id just liek all of this zapping and buzzing and twitching and fuzzy head feeling to go away. I can live with hot flashes and moodiness..its the scary stuff that i cant take..It makes me panic

Hi everyone I'm new to this thread probably like most searching for answers on this madness. I have been going through crazy symptoms for months and feel like crappy half the time but then go for 3 or 4 weeks feeling completely normal and then it starts creeping up again. I missed my first period this year for one month, not pregnant, then got one that was like niagra falls, and so were the next few. I have anxiety up the ying yang. I have always had anxiety but now it just comes on so easily. I wake up with heart beating very fast and blood sugar feeling so low i am shaking really bad. I get terrible fatigue and feel like im kinda floating sometimes. My throat gets tight and my hands shake. Then like I said it passes and i feel great for 3 to 4 weeks, until it returns. Oh they never warned us about this stuff, I thought it was only hotflashes which im dreading but this can be !! Glad im not alone.

I am 50 years old and had Panic Anxiety for 18 years. I took .05 mg of Xanax for several years and my anxiety felt better so I quit taking the Xanax. Things were great for a few years and then about a year and a half ago the anxiety/panic came back with a vengeance. Not only the anxiety but , unpredictable periods, I get a bad taste in my mouth (Similar to the nasty breathe I used to get when I was pregnant) I get alot of muscle tension especially in my neck and back. I have been getting insomnia most recently. I feel like I have electricity running through my body, I get what I call brain farts, in which I get real forgetful, I think mostly because I am so anxious all the time. I have been to ER three times this year. Had 2 EKGs, CAT scan of my abdomen, 3 CBC blood work, I had my vision and eyes checked as my vision gets blurry, due to anxiety and yes I need stronger glasses. I work out eat healthy, but I am always worried that I am dying or have some disease. All the doctors have said Panic/anxiety. I went back on Xanax and Trazodone to help me sleep. I hat taking meds for all of this. I know it came back like this because of menopause and I hate it. I feel like I am going crazy, somedays are very difficult and a few days a week I feel pretty good. Does anyone know what causes the bad mouth taste? I am the general manager of a hotel and have 43 employees am in charge of alot and I have 4 kids and 3 grand kids, I stay very busy and get my work done I just don't know how I do it , I feel like I am reved up constantly and it is so hard to concentrate. I do get some hot flushes without too much sweating. The hot flushes wouldnt be bad its all the other symptoms that are driving me nuts. Does anyone else ever feel off balance like they could fall over? I never do fall over but I just feel off balance. Sometimes when I lay down to go to sleep and I TRY to relax I get this weird floating dizzy kind of feeling. Any comments would be very much appreciated, as at this point I feel crazy

I have found that stress is huge for me and we all have a ton of it with finances, work and relationship issues. If I'm not feeling balanced, loved, touched, I get way off center and start getting, well, pretty crabby. I've had two periods of a couple days to a week with hot flashes and found that adjusting my attitude took care of that. In other words I told myself, "we aren't doing this anymore" and started watching my diet, exersize and finding things to be happy about and they stopped and haven't returned.

I've been working on getting out more. My finances don't permit much spending so I watch for free events and in my city there are quite a few. I've also been working on connecting with people who have some common interests that I haven't really explored in the past. Connecting really makes a big difference for my attitude and how I feel. Being touched is also huge for me. Just a hug from a friend can make a big difference in my day. I think we all need more of this.
