I had my last period 5 years ago. I still sometimes get hot flushes/flashes
and sometimes a really sad feeling comes over me, for no real reason, does anyone else identify with this?

    Hi, welcome to the forum.
    How old are you?
Do you live alone or with family or a friend?
    Are you still working?
What kind of hobbies or activities do you enjoy?

We all experience times when we are down. Is there anything unusual about your experience with this?

Something no doubt in the near future, I will have to endure.

I thought I may be going through Menopause, clearly though I was still/am still clockwork. It was the feeling hot flushes that got me..

I found out that I basically needed to eat more meat, iron, I was lacking, I started doing this and bang gone...

So perhaps you have an iron deficiency.

WC's questions, answered would be great

There maybe other underlying factors that are actually making you feel depressed..

Yes, Ziggy, I have had the same experience... The sadness is overwhelming but it does go away as it came. I try a lot of positive self-talk and it helps me a lot! Try it and tell me if it worked for you.

    Default Relief!

    Hi everyone,

I've been experiencing the same symptoms sadness, sweating and low self esteem too! a friend who went through the same problem suggested these special breathable pyjamas that reduce sweating. At first i wasn't so keen, but after having a look at them I realised that they were actually very fashionable. They make me feel happy and comfortable...my husband likes them too!

I can so feel your pain. I started going through menopause mid last year and I must say I too have moments when I feel incredibly sad for no apparent reason. I call them my moments. They dont last very long but can be quite intense at times.
I find talking about how I feel with a friend that understands helps, or sometimes just go out and do something to pamper myself. Also, I have found excersise is indeed a good friend, it helps release 'endorphins' the feel good hormones. And sometimes having a good cry does the trick too.
Its all an individual thing but know that you are not alone in this

A person with a mood problem is like a human roller coaster. One minute he's up, the next minute he's down. He never seems to be able to get off the ride. His mood swings are intense, sudden and out of control. Chronic and severe mood swings are a psychological disorder, a health problem every bit as real as a physical ailment. In fact, sometimes they're the result of a physical problem, like a premenstrual syndrome. And just like a physical problem, they can be treated. You should contact your doctor to get more advice.

Menapause is a "female" problem Kyle not a male problem..

In addition the OP hasn't returned since 2009 to reply.
