I forgot to say that I have heard that some of my issues could be related to decreased estrogen levels, including the vulvitis. Anyone know about this? Please, any response would be so appreciated!!
Hi! I'm 46 years old and feel like I'm going crazy!! I don't know how close I am to menopause, but any advice would be sooo appreciated! I have been having problems with the skin on my vulva being red, itchy and sore. I have been treated for yeast and using several creams which have helped some but I still have issues down there! I am constantly thinking about it and crying all the time. I feel so emotional, I have very frequent headaches and my skin is breaking out. I feel like a teenager again! I still have regular periods, but do get hot at night before they start and the PMS seems much more intense. I also am going through a divorce, need a job with medical benefits and am raising a 10 year old daughter. I am in a new relationship with a man I adore, and love being intimate with, but the vulva issues are causing me so much anxiety!!! What is wrong with me? Should I go on antidepressants? Help!!!!!

To see if you are "pre-menapausal" ask the Doctor to conduct a blood test. That will inform you of where you are at.
You've been treated for a yeast infection but if you have been sexual with your new partner, he also needs to be treated. It passes back and forth. So, he may be giving it back to you.
Pimples, etc, can also be the stress of your Divorce, job, finances, etc... as can headaches...

Last year I had a series of lupron injections...Which in a nutshell shut down my ovaries and decreased my estrogen production, resulting in menopause.
All your symptoms except the yeast infection sounds like what I went through...Although I was constantly dry to the point where I was always itchy and started to even use lube...Not for sex just for dryness. My downstairs was sore. I had constant migraines, was crying more than usual and had tons of panic attacks, as well as broke out like crazy.
What I am saying is it could be estrogen levels. Have you tried to take nettle supplements? They have lots of natural estrogen in them, as well as raspberry and strawberry leaves.
Forget the antidepresants, you've got a lot on your plate, all high stress -good and bad. Exersize, healthy diet and some stress reduction in your life will work wonders.

I would say get your hormones tested if at all possible. I am not familiar with itchy vulva experience, but PMS symptoms are typically too much estrogen in relation to progesterone levels. I would reasearch things such as estrogen dominance symptoms, lack of estrogen symptoms, low progesterone symptoms and treatment suggestions. I have read about constant UTI problems being linked to hormonal imbalance and I can't remember if it was high or low estrogen/progesterone, but I do recall it had to do with one of those. Good luck!
