    Hi Everyone,

i am also going through menopausal symptoms. Like some of you the anxiety is awful not to mention the buzzing in my head. I have just gone for an EKG cause i was having chest pains. Thought it would be nice to be able to talk to others going through this.

Nanc, I know what your feeling. I too have had the crazy mood swings and chest pains which turned out to be nothing, but scary nonetheless. I have had Hot Flashes for at least 10 years now, so hopefully I am done with them? I will be 50 in December. The bad thing about all of this, is that nobody understands what you are going thru and like my small family, they think I have simply gone off the deep end! AHHHHH! But about the chest pains, get them checked out NOW! Do not wait, heart attacks are a big killer among women, so it's better safe than sorry. Call your doc and demand to be seen ASAP or go to the E.R. I lost a dear friend who though she only had indigestion! She was 32. Wishing you the best! Snowcat60

    Hi Snowcat60,

If you don't mind me asking I read your greetings and am just wondering if you thought there were any correlations between your symptoms and how they affected your relationship with your daughter and husband?

    Hi Snowcat 60,
Thanks for your reply. I can't believe you have been having hot flashes for 10 years. How do you stand it?
I have just started doing yoga and hope that is going to help me with my anxiety. I do find the breathing does help me. I didn't realize that I hold my breath so much!
I think it is hard for anyone not going through perimenopause to understand it and the symptoms. Especially because not everyone has the same ones. I was going to the dentist this morning and I could feel myself getting so anxious and once I got there and my appt. was over I was fine. I just hate feeling that way.
All the best to you as well!

    Default anxiety and menopause

    Hi Nancy,
I have experience tremendous anxiety as I start this stage of my life. Because I was in a stressful job, my doctor attributed most of the anxiety to the job, and didn't consider perimenopause. I have quit my job, and the anxiety is still there. I have had bloodwork done which will confirm whether I am menopausal. \
I experience an intense burning in my chest with my anxiety. Drives me mad most days . . . I worry about so much that I shouldn't worry about . . . just can't seem to enjoy life, just worry and stress. I am considering going on a low dose of HRT to alleviate many of the symptoms I am experiencing - night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings, etc.
    So, hang in ther e. . .

    Hi teachinggal,
I also worry about everything. I am waiting for test results for a cyst above my lung and for thyroid nodules so I am really stressed and anxious about that. I read in an article by a doctor about Menosense. I used to wake up several times with night sweats but I do feel this is helping with night sweats and hot flashes. When I have anxiety my doctor has said I can take valium and when I feel really anxious that does help. If I can't cope with my anxiety I also will consider HRT but my doctor said I should try to cope with the symptoms as long as I can because you shouldn't be on HRT longer than 4 or 5 years if possible. Each day I am trying to tell myself just to enjoy the day but like you I can't stop worrying and stressing about everything.
    All the best to you.

Hi Nancy-I too am going through peri-menopause, so I understand how you feel. I am depressed and have a lot of anxiety too. I'm also married which makes things more difficult. I feel I need to go to a counselor for menopause-this is all new to me. My husband tries to understand, but he's not going through the changes I'm going through-mind and body. I have no libido which really puts a strain on things. I am currently seeing an APRN and I'm using the bio-identical hormone therapy-a creme I apply twice a day. It's not a perfect solution, but it's better than nothing. I go again next week for a follow-up-which I plan on adressing the libido issue. Have you had any blood work done yet?
