Unhappy Could It Be Menopause?

Hello Everyone, I am 43, soon to be 44 in less than a month. 6 years ago I had a hysterectomy done due to fibroid tumors. My surgeon left both my ovaries in because he felt I was too young to remove them. Now I am experiencing hot flashes and night sweats. If I am not under an air conditioner or fans, I feel like I am melting. I was simply blaming it on hot weather. But, hot weather only makes it worse. If the temperature is above 70 degrees, I am hot, hot, hot, and sweating like a melting ice cream cone. I am also having problems sleeping. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Any suggestions for relief?
I appreciate your input,
Lil

Hey Lil!

I've heard soy products are good for the the "hot flashes".
I've started drinking soy milk because regular milk (whether it's skim, 2% or even worse, homogenized milk) really bothers my stomach!

I've tried organic soy milk (kinda yucky to me) in my cereal. I've also tried some chocolate-flavored soy milk, and I enjoyed it. I don't have a problem with "hot flashes" when I get a little soy milk in me.

It's pretty healthy, too. It's got that Omega 3 in it and lots of vitamins & minerals (do I sound like a commercial or what? )

I'll try the vanilla soy milk in my cereal.
